AsomBroso Tequila El Platino Silver

The phallic bottle made me a little leery. The taste didn't help me get past the bottle. Hints of cheap potpourri, which is not a good thing.

We all know what the bottle looks like. But the tequila inside of it is nothing to laugh at. This is one of the best tequilas I have had. On top of the amazing flavor and presentation the price was a STEAL: $29.78 in metro Detroit. I highly recommend and hope that you can find it for a similar price. Even if you have to pay $50.00 get it!

Asombroso El Platino (Silver) NOM 1494 Tasted 3/12/07. This tequila is clear in color and surprisingly has an intense aroma of chocolate. There are also moderate aromas of earth and caramel followed by mild floral, fruit, spicy, and vanilla. A mellow taste on the tip of the tongue leads to a sweet and low bitter tequila taste. The Asombroso El Platino flavor contains moderate intensities of agave, caramel, and milk chocolate followed by mild earth and floral accents. Asombroso El Platino finishes with a medium-to-long duration of flavor and a numbing alcohol feeling. This tequila is truly one of a kind and has been awarded the overall rating of an A-.

A little too sweet, and vanilla tasting but easily a sipper.The nose gave sweet, floral, anise and vanilla with very mild pepper/spice.The initial taste was thin/med oil, slight brine,and oak with a slight burn. It went on to be slightly peppery and spicy with the vanilla taste and some brine.The spicy finish lingers for a bit. The bottle is a keeper, the juice was good but not great.- Long Island Lou Tequila

Tasted neat in a snifter. Crisp, spicy, fresh agave initial taste. Warm, vanilla body that was over-powering. Slow, sweet finish. I was not impresses with the tequila. I was dissapointed, even though the price was 27.97
