MuchoTE Tequila Reposado

MuchoTE Tequila is made from hand selected 100% blue Tequilana Weber Agave, grown in the fields of Don Feliciano Vivanco, a third generation Agave farmer.

MuchoTE Tequila Reposado is then aged in small charred American bourbon casks (190 liters) for at least 7 months, which impart the full flavor and golden color to the Tequila. Finally, MuchoTE Tequila is selected by a tasting panel, to ensure the aroma and flavor are correct.

MuchoTE Tequila is handmade every step of the way by passionate people, not machines. Our mission is to bring you excellent Tequila at an exceptional price.

This Reposado is golden with yellow hues, thick, long legs, with aromas full of agave, orange and cherry. Initial cooked agave flavor turning mildly hot, with a taste of wood and smoked fruit, hints of vanilla, a warm finish, and spicy orange / cinnamon aftertaste.

Excellent Reposado for under $30!

MuchOte Tequila Reposado tasted 3/28/08 in a Riedel glass. I purchased this bottle online with Total Beverage for 28 dollars. This is a perfect example of a really good tequila, at an excellent price presented in a really lame bottle, so I'm torn! The truth is you can't have it all and the makers of MuchOte have done a great job striking and offering a happy medium. The color is a light medium golden hue and the initial nose was sweet and really inviting. Sweet nectar with a nose tingling alcohol and agave base. In the glass it has quick legs. On the tongue it has a light mouth feel and thin body. A strong tequila profile in the nose and throat, with a very long mouth numbing heat after swallowing. This repo is not fooling around or whimpy at all! Not sweet and the taste is pure agave, with lots of smoke, some wood, and mild bitterness on the tongue but not in the aftertaste. I'm very glad I decided to give this a try. It didn't disappoint. The presentation is another matter but the price more than makes up for it. Just as basic as it gets. I like the screw cap for a change and nice labeling. The work and effort here went into the tequila. It will surprise you!

This Tequila is an exceptional value and is very easy to drink. I really prefer to just sip it in a snifter.
I look forward to introducing my neighbors and friends to this.

MuchoTE Reposado NOM 1414 Tasted on 3/2/08 at 4:35pm. MuchoTE Reposado was donated to me by the owners of the company but is estimated to be at a shelf cost of $30 a bottle. I tasted this tequila in my home and used a Riedel glass for tasting. The bottle is similar to a normal bottle and is very basic. The company philosophy is that they put everything into the tequila and do not distract you with the bottle which would add to a higher cost. MuchoTE ages their Reposado for at least 7 months which causes it to be a pale yellow, golden color. Intense aromas of this tequila include floral accents that are followed by moderate notes of fruit. Deeper in the aroma are hints of earth and a minimal hint of caramel. In the mouth, the Reposado is smooth (in a good way) and is mellow and soft on the tongue. While the tequila is somewhat sweet, there is only a slight hint of bitterness. When examining the flavors of MuchoTE, first impressions include intense floral accents with a good amount of agave. On a second sip, I noticed moderate flavors of fruit. When searching for deeper flavors upon tasting the tequila, one can taste hints of earth and wood followed by a slight hint of caramel on the back end. This tequila finishes with a medium to long duration of flavor and subtle numbing alcohol intensity. I awarded MuchoTE Reposado the rating of 92 points out of 100.
