Tequila Review Brand:
Cabo Wabo
NOM: 1467 Distillery: Impulsora Rombo, S.A. De C.V. Web Site: http://www.cabowabo.com Tasting Awards: Double Gold Medal - 2006 San Francisco World Spirits CompetitionClassic(96-100) Highest Recommendation - 2004 The Wine Enthusiast Cabo Wabo Reposado TequilaCabo Wabo Reposado Tequila is double distilled and aged in oak barrels from 3 to 12 months. The Tequilana Weber Blue Agave plant is the core and essence of Cabo Wabo Tequila. Harvested between 8 and 12 years, the Agave is cooked in stone steam-heated ovens, and then smashed and ground to remove the Agave nectar. Fermentation follows and is completely natural, with no chemicals added. Cabo Wabo Tequila is then distilled twice to remove impurities and refine the aroma and alcohol content. Blanco Tequila goes straight to bottling, whereas Reposado Tequila is aged between 3 to 12 months, and the Anejo Tequila is aged from 1 to 5 years. The Tequila is bottled in unique, hand blown artisan glass bottles. User reviews

June 10, 2008 Written by Piņa - View all my reviews - Top 10 Reviewer Aroma: I detected intense aroma of spice and hints of caramel and wood. Initial Taste: Cabo repo has an oily mouth feel with initial taste of caramel and wood. Body: Mellow agave followed by notes of fruit, caramel and spice. Finish: No alcohol burn and a spicy woody finish of meduim duration. Not my favorite repo for sipping. Maybe it would go better as a mixer.

April 02, 2008 Written by senor pescados - View all my reviews - Top 10 Reviewer Cabo Wabo Reposado Color: light golden hue Aroma: hard cider Taste: apple wood smoke taste with a light mouthfeel and tongue numbing bitter burn in the finish A reposado with a burn of a blanco. Good for cocktails, but not one that I would buy to drink straight. My three favorite reposado at the time of this writing have to be Sol Azul, Casa Noble & Corralejo.
