Tres, Quatro, Cinco Anejo (prickly pear cactus) NOM 1146 Tasted 12/27/06. The tequila is a golden brown color and has intense floral and earthy aromas. Once you get past the intensity of the nose, you can smell moderate notes of vanilla and fruit. On the tip of the tongue the tequila is mellow and soft but yet has a full-to-strong intensity of taste and feels heavy and oily in the mouth. While the tequila has a medium-to-low bitterness, it is actually fairly sweet and almost syrupy. Now onto flavor. The flavor has intense earth and floral attributes which are followed by moderate spice, fruit, and agave with mild vanilla, smoke, and caramel. The tequilas finish is an medium-to-long duration of flavor followed by a numbing, tingly alcohol feeling. Overall, I rated this tequila at the A level and would definitely recommend that everyone try this masterpiece. However, personally, I thought the original bottle with the Porfidio like cactus in the bottom tasted a lot better.

Great packaging and that's it. Over priced, over oaked. All agave flavor is taken away by a strong oak finish. Not a single hit of complexity. Falls off the as soon as it hits your mouth.
