Rey Sol Anejo Tequila

Rey Sol Anejo Tequila - 100% Blue Agave, the extra aged tequila par excellence from San Matias. Among the finest tequilas available, it undergoes careful aging for at least five years in the finest oak barrels, under the strict scrutiny that only the Casa San Matias distillers give to their products.

In order to design a bottle worthy of presenting a truly distinguished tequila, they procured the services of renowned artist, Sergio Bustamante, whose work has been acclaimed in Mexico and around the world. Rey Sol is meant to be enjoyed by itself.

Rey Sol Anejo is a solid premium tequila. It starts off with aromas of floral, and vanilla. It is light in the mouth with a moderate amount of sweetness and flavors of vanilla and caramel. It finishes super-smooth with a medium duration of flavor.

The entire time I was drinking the Rey Sol, I was thinking: "This is nice, but there is no wow-factor." Maybe it's because I tried this in the same night that I tried the Chinaco Negro Extra Anejo (which totally blew me away), and I was not blown away by the Rey Sol. But for $50 a shot, I feel like it should be something really special.

If price is never an issue, you will be happy with Rey Sol Anejo. But for $320 a bottle, you can do much better.
