Tequila El Mayor Blanco

El Mayor Blanco Tequila - This 100% agave tequila is pure and unaged. Its crisp, light body with just a hint of pepper gives your favorite mixed cocktail the perfect sophisticated twist.

Entrusted with the destiny of his ancestors, Rodolfo Gonzãlez continues to create an exceptional line of tequilas in the tradition of his father and his father’s father.

In Spanish, El Mayor means “the greatest”. El Mayor Tequila sets the highest standards: use only the best raw product, implement the most intelligent, time-tested techniques, and instill in all of those around you a passion and pride in every aspect of the tequila-making process.

I was really looking forward to trying this Tequila.
Aroma: Very earthy, black peppery
Initial taste: Starts with a black peppery taste
Body: very intense, earth agave. could be one of the most earthy tequilas Ive tasted.
Finish and duration: A mild alcohol burn ending with a peppery finish of medium duration.

I did like this tequila alot, especially for its earthy taste. Even though I dont consider it one of my favorites, I would recommend it to a tequila fan with a very earthy preference. A very decent B grade tequila.

Tasted with ice on May 3, 2008 while having pork tacos, plus chips and salsa.

El Mayor Blanco

Color: clear
Aroma: agave
Taste: black pepper and light on the tongue with help from the ice finishing with a strong blanco burn that cut through the ice

This is a blanco that I will purchase to try without the ice and in cocktails to give a more proper review, as I am sure the food was impacting my taste buds. Until the I still favor for blancos either the Chinaco, Corralejo or the Milagro. My current top three blanco picks as of the writing of this review, though this El Mayor may give them a run.

El Mayor Tequila Blanco, NOM 1143, Batch #244, Bottle #52. I've tasted this spirit on numerous occasions primarily in Margarita's, but also in shots, trying to see if I've missed some positive attribute. It's been the same every time. Neutral agave nose with medium alcohol. The initial taste is floral & peppery with alcohol overtones & after burn. Light to medium body with a lingering, middle of the tongue finish that rolls off the palate in a diminishing fashion. I would have rated the presentation higher if it wasn't for the disappointing plastic cork. Uniquely shaped bottle. Reasonably priced. B-, not top shelf. Más refinamiento necesitado aquí!

Tequila El Mayor, is a really good tequila to have on your shelf, this Sliver has been through a lot of hit and miss trail periods, but has always been able to stay afloat, Mr Gonzalez, told me how much they have put into this silver to make sure it stays pure, Tequila El Mayor has come out on top with this silver, a really smooth silver with notes of Agave, citrus, a slight smokiness, and pepper, it keeps true to the pureness of a true tequila Blanco, and with it's award winning bottle design, this is one u can show off to your friends.
