Hmm, I really love this Tequila. Maybe I have a soft spot for it because it was the first 100% agave Tequila I have ever had. So be it!

Aroma: Pleasant mild scent of agave.
Initial taste: SLight burn, but followed by strong agave presence.
Body: Id say its agave with hints of flora and pepper
Finish and duration: The finish is somewhat short but pleasant with no burn.

Tasted in a caballito on March 24, 2008 showing clear lasting legs on the glass.

Don Julio Blanco

Color: clear
Aroma: floral
Taste: flower salad with ground black pepper and light on the tongue

I enjoy the light blanco mouthfeel of the Don Julio Blanco, though I enjoy a more fiery Tequila than the floral taste.

Disappointed with the presentation as the bulbous bottle is nice, but the wood cap hides a plastic screw top. For the price and history of the Don Julio Blanco I would expect a corked bottle.

For blancos I would much rather drink either the Chinaco, Corralejo or the El Diamante Del Cielo. My current top three blanco picks as of the writing of this review.

Don Julio Tequila Blanco, NOM 1449. This tequila has a clean, unpronounced, almost neutral agave nose. The initial taste is sweet spicy pepper & slightly hot. The body is complex, slightly antiseptic, with very deep spice, citrus & earthy agave flavors. It is also very crisp, clean & smooth without any alcohol burn, prevalent in many other tequilas of lesser refinement. The finish is light, similar to the aroma, with a hint of black pepper.
This is one of my favorite Margarita tequilas with a slick, almost surfactant taste/finish. B+/A, top shelf.

this is defintely one that Don Julio needs to work on,with an overall earthy agave taste, with slighlt notes of citrus this one is definitely the "runt" in the family, the aroma is almost too crisp, with all the citrus notes, and the taste all agave flavor, with a clean yet dry peppery finish, i recently attended a tasting of the Don Julio brands, and was totally not on board with the representative from diageo preference of blanco over the repo, and anejo, just couldn't understand why, but i kept that to myself, and respected her choice, after all, that's the beautiful thing about tastings, everybody is entitled to their own opinion. DOn Julio's blanco is an average contender in this category.

Don Julio Blanco - NOM 1449 - Tasted 2/16/07. The tequila is clear in color with intense earthy and smokey aromas followed by moderate-to-intense aromas of floral, spice, and chocolate. A soft mellow entry leads to a low sweet taste, with low-to-moderate bitterness and moderate-to-heavy agave taste. While there is only moderate agave flavor, the tequila has intense earthy and floral. The tequila finishes with a short duration of flavor and a tingly alcohol finish. Overall, I gave the tequila a "B."
