4 Copas Blanco Tequila

A double silver medal winner in 2005/2006 at the SF Spirits Competition, 4 Copas Blanco is our white tequila and is considered the ‘pure spirit’ by connoisseurs for its fresh, cooked-agave taste. After it is distilled, 4 Copas Blanco is immediately brought to the bottling line’s receiving tanks where it is dissolved in de-mineralized water and is then promptly filtered and bottled.

4 Copas Blanco is a most versatile spirit as it can be thoroughly enjoyed as a sipping tequila due to its extra smooth qualities or as part of a delicious margarita given it's lemon-lime, peppery finish harmonizing perfectly with freshly squeezed lime juice and a squirt of agave nectar!!

A clear, medium body spirit, with aroma containing agave and spice, with hints of butter and grass. Initial fruity and sweet blast, turning to cooked agave and mild butter with balanced alcohol. Finishing with a mild spicy and fruity finish, and a hint of mint on the aftertaste.

Tequila 4 Copas Blanco tasted 3/16/08 in a Riedel glass. NOM 1457 La Quemada. I ordered this bottle from Hi-Time for $50.00. A lot of extra work goes into the creation of this virgin organic tequila before it ever hits your tongue. It shows, and I appreciate that. This blanco stands out in the crowd not because its necessarily better than the rest but because it's so good at being unique among other blancos. For tequila to rate exceptional in my book it must cover three bases well. Agave taste, tequila flavor, and alcohol balance. 4 Copas balances all three of theses quite nicely. Its pure cooked agave peppery taste and citrus nose are not overly intense. It has a very traditional tequila profile that is medium bodied, low in bitterness, and high in sweetness. Its perfect balance of alcohol burn and harshness make this an excellent sipper and mixer. The bottles beautiful deep azul gradient to clear glass and artwork presentation, especially when lit up, rounds out this top shelf addition to any bar.

4 Copas Silver is definitely a must have for an avid tequila aficionado, for Tequila 4 Copas, i would have to say that this is their weakest tequila, although the entire line is excellent, this is definitely the least, compared to other blancos though, it is up there in overall consistency, I found the initial aroma very inviting, with hints of the earthy agave plant, and some floral, once the stuff hit my mouth the taste of the agave was apparent, but for a silver the agave taste, i felt was lacking, something a true silver should never lose, the silver sat well in my mouth , it was bitter and hints of a buttery finish lingered, but once it was swallowed it carried through a numbing alcoholness that never went away, definitely very different.

4 Copas Blanco: Tequila for people who don't like tequila.

This tequila is very sweet, very smooth, and finishes short. There is a buttery feel in the mouth, but I would be hesitant to call it even medium bodied. It's very, very light. There is a moderate amount of agave, but I didn't experience any "intense" flavors.

All in all, I think it's a great effort; and it would probably mix extremely well. Even just for shear contrast between this and Case Noble or Don Valente, it is worth checking out.

4 Copas Blanco ? NOM 1457 ? Tasted 3/4/07. 4 Copas Blanco is clear in color. Aromas consist of intense earth and floral followed by moderate fruit, smoke, pepper, and spice scents. The first sip of the tequila is sweet and has a low-to-no amount of bitterness. The types of flavors 4 Copas Blanco has include intense earth and floral. On the mild side, there are agave, spice, pepper, and smokey flavors. Unfortunately, the tequila finished with a short duration of flavor and a slight tingly alcohol intensity. I awarded 4 Copas Blanco the rating of ?B+? overall.

I have tried 4 copas tequila just a few times and I have found out is that taste/aroma in this tequila is very good but tasting notes are a bit limited and it is just a bit too smooth for me. When I am sipping tequila I want to know what it is and experience it full force. But it is such sweet tequila with a good nose that combines the cooked agave with raw agave, worth having in your bar.
