Leyenda del Milagro Anejo Tequila

Milagro Anejo is made from 100% estate-grown, hand picked blue agave harvested from the highlands of Jalisco. The heart of the agave is roasted in clay ovens made from the same volcanic-rich soil where the blue agave fourishes in Jalisco, Mexico. Our triple distillation process produces tequila of extraordinary depth and character for unparalleled smoothness. Unlike other Anejos that are aged for one year, Milagro Anejo is aged in single oak barrels for 18 months, giving it a distinctive, rich amber color and subtle woody flavor.

Tasted in large caballito on May 3, 2008 showing long lasting legs down the glass. Tasting after a large meal and desert.

Milagro Anejo

Color: light golden
Aroma: slight wood & vanilla
Taste: wood on fire with a medium mouthfeel having a lightness around it. Finished with a fiery burn

For anejos I would much rather drink either the Sol Azul, Casa Noble or Don Julio 1942. My current top three anejo picks as of the writing of this review. The Milagro Anejo is good but very hot for an anejo and I had to keep taking breaks to cool the fire in my mouth as I sipped.

Milagro Anejo NOM 1420 Tasted 1/13/07. With a yellow color, Milagro Anejo has intense aromas of floral and moderate fruit scents. Less apparent are mild vanilla, earth, and caramel aromas. Upon initial taste, the tequila has a thin, oily mouth feel and is soft and mellow on the tip of the tongue. Moderate flavors of floral, agave, and fruit accents are followed by mild earth, vanilla, and caramel flavors. The finish consists of almost no alcohol intensity and a short duration of flavor. I rate this tequila at the B range.
