Herencia Mexicana Anejo Tequila

Herencia Mexicana Anejo Extra Aged Tequila

Look
Shiny, crystalline with amber tones that reflects its great full body

Smell
Aromatic full notes of cooked of ripe agaves, a subtle touch of vanilla and delicate fine wood touch a bouquet resulted of aging process

Taste
As a result of its traditional process and patiently aging in caves, it evokes the agave recently removed from the kiln, enjoying a persistent and preciously smooth after taste

Tasted 07/25/08 out of double ball. This anejo is really good. I prefer the anejo over the reposado of this line.

Aroma: Caramel, wood, and spices.
Initial Taste: Upon entry, there's an oily mouth feel. It's sweet with no bitterness.
Body: Mild agave, fruit, caramel, wood and earth. Very complex.
Finish: Of medium duration with no alcohol burn.

Herencia Mexicana Anejo NOM 1079 Tasted on 7/16/08 at 7:30pm. I tried this tequila at Pueblo Chico Cantina in El Dorado Hills and tasted it in a glass similar to a snifter. With a golden color, this tequila has intense floral and fruity aromas. Other aromas include mild earth, caramel, and spice with a hint of vanilla. The tequila has a medium to heavy mouth feel and on the first sip there is a low level of sweetness with no bitterness. Intense floral flavors and moderate to intense agave are followed by moderate fruit. Mild to moderate notes of earth, vanilla, and wood are also present with a hint of caramel. With a long duration of flavor this tequila ends with a slightly numbing finish. Herencia Mexicana Anejo has received the rating of 91/92 points out of 100.
