Cesar Monterrey Tequila Anejo Reserva

Cesar Monterrey Tequila Tequilas are 100% grown, produced and bottled under the careful supervision of our Master Distiller who's family has been distilling premium Tequila for over 100 years. In our opinion, when you grow, produce and bottle all of your own Tequila, the resulting experience represents the magical character of the people at Cesar Monterrey who have dedicated their lives to produce the finest Tequilas in all of Mexico!

Our haciendas grow premium Blue Agave in the hillsides of San Juanito de Escobedo. These hillside haciendas are composed of red volcanic soils that provide perfect drainage and climate to grow for no less than 8 years before they are cultivated by Cesar Monterrey's own jimadores.

Artisan production methods are the only methods used to make Cesar Monterrey Tequilas. Wood burning ovens, pure mountain spring water, gently pressed free-run Premium Blue Agave juice, open tank stainless steel fermenters using only indigenous yeast, temperature controlled stainless steel pot still triple distillation and cold filtered twice creates the perfect Tequila.

Cesar Monterrey Tequila Anejo Reserva is aged in Kentucky Ultra Premium Bourbon cured Oak barrels for 2-3 years. An Anejo so rich, so complex, so smooth that it has earned the Reserva classification.

What a truly fine spirit this is. It is my current favorite anejo. Riedel tequila glasses are made for this this kind of quality spirit, with its sweet, organic aroma. Initial taste is acutely spicey and rich, with honeyed agave dominating at midpalate. It's smooth on the finish, leaving a sweet, spicey, agave taste that lingers and makes you (well, at least me) look forward to the next glass. Wine Enthusiast rates this as one of its 50 Best Spirits of 2006 (not just among tequilas, but all spirits) and it's easy to taste why. I only wish that this tequila was a little easier to find.
