Tres Rios Tequila Reposado

Tres Rios Reposado Tequila - Alluring sweet nectar, slightly layered with smoke and vanilla makes this Reposado unique. The aroma is softened after spending four months in oak, yet the flavor still displays much of the original qualities of this highly nurtured Blue Agave. Tres Rios is careful to preserve the natural flavors of their premium late Harvest Blue Agave, resulting in a soft, authentic taste that is filled with character.

The yeast in Tres Rios is allowed to ferment for 24 to 28 hours, no more, no less, to achieve the perfect balance that is observed in this fine and smooth tequila. The Ojeda family uses artesian well water from a depth of 90 meters below the surface to compliment the quality of the distillation process. After the Agave is cut, it is stacked to bake in a brick oven for 36 hours, compared to the average of 12 to 24 hours, to impart the particular nuances of Tres Rios.

2007 - Vince Neil, lead singer for heavy metal band Mötley Crüe, launches Tres Rios Tequila at the Food Network South Beach Wine & Food Festival.

Tasted out of a snifter. Somehow I managed to find a mini bottle of this tequila pre Vince Neil. When a reposado is really true to being a reposado, the nose is just awesome. This is a great repo. Aroma: Just awesome. Do they make noses like this anymore? Full of berry, peppermint, slight citrus and floral.Very yummy. Initial Taste: A nice and smooth entry. Very slight bitterness. A semi oily mouth feel. Initial taste of fruit (berry). Body: Agave, fruit, and slight fruit and spices. Finish: A finish of medium duration with a distinct lingering of berry.
