Tequila Embajador Premium Reposado

Tequila Embajador Premium Reposado is stunning with its radiant yellow tone enriched with golden hues. It is crafted with our finest 100% Blue Weber Agave from the Highlands of Jalisco, Mexico. Premium expresses delightful aromas of sweet Agave, delicate herbs and fruit flavors. Its aromas further capture pleasing tones of maple, vanilla, caramel and a slight hint of coffee. Silky full body and indelible sensation are delivered as Embajador Reposado passes through the palate. It rests for 8 months in American Oak barrels.

Embajador preserves tradition, but also integrates modernization in producing fine quality Tequila that "Comforts the Soul". One of our key processes is our cooking methods of the Agave (piña) heart. We bake a portion of our Agaves in traditional adobe brick ovens, taking approximately 24-36 hours to convert the starches into sugars. A slower and longer process, but where patience is rewarded. Another portion of our Agaves is baked in the modern stainless steel autoclave, where Agaves cook in 8-9 hours. This is a quick and efficient process that adds its own distinctive aromas and flavors. This unique blending produces exquisite aromatic properties and a tasting profile of distinguished flavor found in Tequila Embajador.

Another key process is our recycling of production remnants of Agave fibers. The fibers are used as part of a natural fertilization process for our soil that gives our Agaves healthier conditions to cultivate for 8-10 years and ripen with those enjoyable aromas and distinctive flavors.

Embajador Premium Reposado is best enjoyed neat, exquisitely blended in a premium margarita, or enhancement of other fine cocktails.

Mention that a tequila is from NOM 1509 and you immediately have my attention. With gems like Crotalo and Alma in their profile, I would happily try anything that they pump out of the Tequila Embajador, S.A. de C.V. distillery.
This is my first taste of anything from the Embajador line. I'm very much looking foward to it. If it's anything like its 1509 cousins, it is going to be on my highly recommended list.

Price: $50/bottle

Aroma: Cooked agave, light vanilla and some green/minty & spice notes.

Initial Taste: Nice agave profile, vanilla, pepper and some green flavors & spice. A very nice overall balance...the kind that I like in a good reposado

Body: Medium-thin body…not oily at all. Nice retention of agave with light oak and spice. Nice vanilla-like sweetness to round it out. The green notes disappear a bit leaving a sweet and spicy combo.

Finish: The finish doesn't hang around for as along as I'd like, but the flavors are still in good balance and very well crafted.

This has everything that you'd want from a good repo. Plenty of agave, a nice mellowing from the barrel and balanced flavors to round it all out. The price is on the high end, but the flavors are pretty darn good. It's tough to compete in the $50 category, but Embajador just might have the tools to pull it off. I don't like it quite as much as Crotalo. Nor do I think it's as good a value as Alma, but I certainly would never turn down a sip of this solid juice.
