Slightly floral, slightly citrus, slightly wet grass...almost a tangy aspect minty citrus flavor with a hint of earth in the nose. Initial taste is tart with only minimal sweetness. Medium body with a noticeable, but not necessarily oily, coating. A quick, yet balanced finish of heat with a slight lingering of the mint and citrus; it dissipates quickly, however, except for a faint aftertaste and tingling on the lips.

This was fairly well-balanced throughout, but nothing exceptional or remarkable in any particular aspect. This is strictly a mixer for me, but very worthy in that respect. I've seen it for under $20, and that is a great price for it; but I've also seen it around $30, which is really pushing the limit IMO; I think mid-to-lower 20s is about right for this blanco. Nothing fancy with the bottle, but a nice screw-on top and wooden cap. Clearly not a lot of thought went into the label design with the big 'Z' and not much else on a clear sticker. The bottle shape is familiar...hmmm...maybe a taller and slimmer version of Casa Noble?

Z Tequila is a smaller brand that may be a bit lesser known, but made a splash at this year's San Francisco spirits competition. Any time I can get my hands on something that wins a Double Gold for under $30, you can be sure that I'm going to check it out.

Price: $25-30/bottle

Aroma: A great big agave nose on this one. Complimentary smells of floral and grassy notes with black pepper...and just a touch of extra sweetness like a vanilla.

Initial Taste: A nice clean agave forward entry. Citrus and mint hints make it really crisp and sweet.

Body: Medium to thin body, but it has some oiliness to coat the palate. There's a great agave pepper kick there that you want in a good blanco.

Finish: Medium length finish that brings all of the clean agave notes to the forefront again. The complexities are subtle, but they worth well with the agave forward flavors. A very nice finish to a splendid blanco.

This is a tequila lover's blanco. Big agave notes and a clean entry and smooth finish with the signature pepper kick that you want in a good blanco. Add in the fact that you can find this around $25 or so...and sign me up. Well done Pepe!

Purchased bottle from Wine and Liquor depot 06/03/08. Tasted in snifter.

Zeveda blanco tequila definitely is a unique tequila. it is a smooth sipper but it does have a slight alcohol burn at the end. I dont love it, but I do like it alot.

Aroma: Very cool aroma! A clean fresh nose of mint and vanilla.
Initial taste: A thin mouth feel of spicy mint that turns into a subtle yet very present agave
Body: The agave presence intensifies at this point, with hints of floral and vanilla.
Finish:Very minty agave finish of medium to long duration with slight alcohol burn.
Presentation: As I've stated before, presentation doesn't mean much to me. However, this bottle is pretty dull. A better presentation could possibly convince someone to pick this bottle up!

Like I said, in my humble opinion, a very unique blanco. Does it break into my top 5 though? No. Would I buy another bottle? At $27 dollars a bottle? You bet I would!
