Aroma: Light agave, some spice and oak.
Initial Taste: Not a ton of initial flavor. Light agave and vanilla flavor.
Body: REALLY thin body. Almost like drinking water. Nothing complex here.
Finish: A very strange finish for this tequila. The taste is like a thick custard, but the texture is really thin. It confuses your brain.

It's a $15 100% agave tequila. I wasn't expecting miracles. It's better than Cuervo Gold and not as good as Camarena and other low prices 100% agave tequilas. It's fine in a pinch because it's well priced.

Aroma: A decent amount of agave on this nose along with a chemical/alcohol smell.
Initial Taste: Sweet and syrupy.
Body: Tasted like a mixto. Some agave, wood...and something else.
Finish: The trademark Sauza "burn." None of their tequilas don't finish with an alcohol numbing. This one is no different.

If you're looking for something readily available for under $20, you can do worse. However, you're better off planning ahead and buying and holding something better so that you're not forced to choose among the 5-6 bad tequilas that a local store might have.

Aroma: Honestly, it wasn't good. It was almost medicinal. Notes of vanilla and agave and alcohol.
Initial Taste: Sweeter than the nose would indicate, but nothing noteworthy.
Body: Thick and almost like cough syrup. The flavor was decent, but not good enough to make me want to drink a lot more.
Finish: An unexpected minty element to the finish, which leads me to believe that's what led to the odd aroma.

Great bottle, mediocre tequila. In the price range, you can flat out do much better.

The final is good but not very long, this tequila tastes and have a personality as his name suggest "a great old". I tried to mix it with cola and i needed a little bit to make a strong and spicy tasting "charro negro".

That's just not happening with this tequila. Very pleasently surprised at the smell, crisp without an overpowering alcohol presence. This anejo lacks the full body flavor of better anejo's and does have an alcohol burn to it. This stuff does however make for great mixed margaritas. A couple ounces of this with some lime juice and tripe sec and you have a very good drink. Definitely better than the low end tequilas, it is shy of being premium in my opinion.

Initial taste: Sweet, but a bit of a let-down from the nose.
Body: The agave is more apparent in the body than it is in the nose, which is interesting. Caramel, vanilla, spice still linger against a very slight wood background.
Finish: Long, complex, and very enjoyable. Surprisingly agave-forward that leaves a lasting impressions of vanilla, spice, earth, smoke, oak, and a little dark fruit.

I thought this was good, though the nose is so good that it's a bit deceptive. I think this tequila should be better than it was. I'll try another bottle from a different batch. Otherwise, this is a solid A.

Love the packaging too.

As a point of note - in the UK, the bottle does say "Reposado" on the small label across the neck of the bottle, not 'Premium' as the picture here shows. Thus, I may be reviewing a slightly different product here.

That said, most of the reviews here stand...

...when it's cold or room temperature.

This tequila seems to be VERY sensitive to temperature - more so than any other spirit I've tried. It is, at room temperature or colder, like drinking hydrochloric acid. Really nasty stuff.

However, if you manage to warm it up to a much higher temperature, it becomes bearable. Still bad compared to most tequilas, but bearable. Bearable enough that I would choose it over a similarly priced spirit of another variety (be it vodka, gin, rum, whatever). The problem is, to maintain that level of temperature, you need it in a disposable plastic cup (very thin plastic), that you cup with you hands as if your life depends on it. Even a snifter won't get this up to the temperature it needs to be at.

Even then, you only get a slight *hint* of tequila, with some added caramel and some earthy notes. Then the usual sharp alcohol burn and almost no finish.

Not reccomended, by any stretch of the imagination, but not quite as bad as people make out. Still, spend a few quid more and get an El Jimador 100% agave repo, and you'll never look back. Hell, even Sauza's cheap repo mixto is better, and can be consumed at any temperature without too much hassle.

I'd even be hesitant about using this as mixer - most cocktails are cold, and as we can see, this tequila does NOT like the cold!

Never put it in a lowball.

This is a strange tequila...it's almost like a very strong white wine.

Legs are present but not particularly strong; colour is a slighty 'enhanced'-looking (if you get my drift) pale gold.

The nose is...well, winey, with vague hints of caramel, and almost no alcohol. The initial taste is very fruity with a very, very faint hint of caramel.

Body is near non-existent, but what there is is fruity and, again, wine-esque.

The finish is probably the best part of this, and is where a mild heat and pepperiness appear, with no alcohol burn at all, albeit it will leave a gentle numbness in place. There is some agave hidden in there too, albeit it's slightly tart, but given that this tequila is reasonably sweet anyway, it's a welcome addition.

Presentation is pretty boring - a very heavy bottle on which the only thing of interest is an embossed agave.

This appears to be a mixto (no mention of 100% on the bottle), and it shows. There is some agave hidden under there, but the overwhelming taste is of white wine - to the point that I had to check I'd poured the right bottle!

This is a pleasant tequila to drink on a summer's day, but just don't expect complexity or a tequila man's tequila - it's just not. It also tastes closer to a blanco than a repo to me.

However, considering that I bought this at a similar price to Cuervo Especial, it's a no brainer if you need a cheap tequila that doesn't taste like chemicals and you can't lay you hands on some Olmeca or something better.

If you're new to tequila and are coming from a wine background, this may well be the one for you to introduce you to the world; from here you can go on to the purer, more complex tequilas.

Also be careful, you really can't tell there's the full 38% ABV in this. You could drink a full wine glass and not notice until you stand up.

The one I have is the mixto, it does not say anywhere "100% agave".

Surprisingly excellent for a mixto, but falls short of being a good tequila obviously. It's a little bit syrupy in body but it mixes well, drinks pretty well neat and makes for an all-around decent cheap tequila. If you're going to get a budget mixto, this is miles better than cuervo gold or whatever paint thinner junk... and at $15/bottle it's tough to beat.

A great viscousy extra anejo. The best part is that it doesn't taste like the barrel -bourbon. Too many times 3+ years in a barrel makes a tequila loose its herbaceous goodness. This still tastes like agave with a subtle smokiness. Great for desert and it looks great in the glass. (dark tequila usually equates to expensive) For $50, it is a great sipper.

This Añejo is really good and has a nose that is very enjoyable. It displays a fine range of complexity and age. The body is oily with nice legs that drip slowly down the glass. Once I sipped it and swirled it around my mouth, I was taken back by its dynamics and hints of smoke. Vanilla, oak, sunshine and earth are all present in the main flavor stage. With the swallow, an enjoyable mount of mineral mixed with the alcohol burn. The burn is mild, but does a nice job of spreading the love into your taste buds.
I am not a fan of smokey Añjo, but this one displays a very mild tone of smoke that does not over power the agave or white oak (that it is rested in).
Over all, this is a fine tequila. One that should be tried by any ardent fan of this sublime spirit.

The bottle is elegant but a bit bland, corked top, your not buying because of the bottle I hope. Color is a beautiful amber slides quickly down the glass, leaves lasting legs and will gather on the sides after several moments. Let it settle for a bit, the nose will get more complex, agave, alcohol, caramel, vanilla, oak... and much more. Wow, settles nicely on the tongue, almost a shame to have to swallow, I held this longer than most, letting it infuse with the buds, too good. Swallowing is another reward. Excellent body, smooooooooooth, full of multiple details that can only be achieved with substantial time in the barrel and frankly defy description. Has a delayed finish with a slight alcohol burn that lingers on the tongue.... very nice. Like a good women, this anejo leaves only fond memories.
