Sounds like another marketing gimmick, but inside is a pretty good tequila at a pretty good price @ around $35 a bottle.

The smell is sweet and pleasant. Lots of vanilla, agave and spice. The taste matches the smell with a sweet start, not too much alcohol burn and a short and smooth finish. It definitely has the smoothness of something that has been well rested.

I've used this to sip and to mix. It does the trick for both nicely. A good tequila at a good price that can be used for many purposes. A great tequila for people new to tequila as well.

First whiff was like I was smelling vanilla cake frosting - but not nearly as sweet, and with a nice subtle agave scent too. Also smelled of spices, and hazelnut. Nice long tears.

Entrance is sweet and somewhat light, but it's complexity is obvious shortly thereafter. It is not quite thick, or oily, but a very nice body - vanilla, spices, cinnamon, light smoke, and licorice. Also, a very nice agave presence - not detectable if you drink it down quickly, but it's definitely there.

Smooth finish with a perfect cinnamon/earthy/sweet/agave finish that I thoroughly enjoyed.

The bottle is beautiful and I actually think they do quite a good job of following through with a great product inside. Nicely done and very enjoyable.

I was eager to try this one. The whole visual of it (clear in color and being a 'reposado') really had me intrigued. I can't say I was 'wowed', but I was very pleased. Even though all the aromas and tastes were more subtle than I anticipated, it's still a good tequila, even if it doesn't seem like one. I think it makes a very good sipper. I wouldn't mix this one.

Like I said, all the aromas and tastes were more subtle than any other tequila I've tasted:

Aroma: An aroma of pine, earth, slight smoke and earth.
Initial Taste: A soft entry, a thin mouth feel with no bitterness. An initial taste of herbs.
Body: A 'creamy' agave body, with compliments of earth, and slight vanilla.
FInish: A nice slightly heated finish with a lingering of earth cinnamon.

The initial scent smelled more of nail polish remover than agave or anything else. Fortunately the taste did not follow suit. However I thought this to be a weak tequila. There was nothing outstanding taste-wise. Everything was subtle and, quite frankly, it didn't taste like tequila at all.
My friend, who also tasted it, mirrored the other reviewer's observation: "That tastes more like vodka"

Overall I feel this Maestro falls flat. It isn't bad, but it isn't even close to the full flavored style I like. Its also fairly expensive, $70 in Western Massachusetts. I'm glad I tried it, but I won't bother with it again.

Appearance: very light straw, clear - full body and tears
Aroma: mild alcohol, light nose of fermented grapes, coffee, oak and vanilla
Initial Taste: sweet nut and chocolate, mild spice
Spirit Body: fruit and butter, hints of vanilla and mint, thick and warm
Finish / Aftertaste: warm and smooth finish, medium chocolate and mint aftertaste

A unique and mild spirit, containing many smooth aromas and flavors, minus the standard Agave attributes. Very drinkable. Tasted blind it would be difficult to categorize.

I was eager to try it because the premise sounded good, the blending of the best of reposado and anejo tequilas for a great flavor experience.

I was dissappointed as I expected much more complexity of flavor for the price. The bottle is certainly stunning but the product was smooth, almost vodka like in it's character.

I just expect more flavor out of my tequilas. It was ok, just not what I expected. The filtration must have taken flavor out as it stripped the color from the product. Then again I thought maybe they are going for the light, flavorless idea. I would love to hear what others think.
