Tequila Espolon Anejo is a good tequila. it has a nice golden brown color. Yet it doesn't really stand out to me too much, but it doesn't push me away either. As far as presentation, love the old school! Definitely a B+ tequila in my humble opinion.

Aroma: A nice butterscotch and honey aroma. Very pleasant. This was my favorite part of this tequila.
Initial Taste: A semi oily mouth feel. On the tip of the tongue, it's sweet with no bitterness. Initial taste of wood/agave.
Body: A nice cooked agave body with hints of spices, cinnamon, and caramel.
Finish: A very heated finish of medium duration with a cinnamon/woody lingering.

Not my favorite, but there's no way you'd be disappointed in this one.

Caramel, oak and smoke are the principle elements in the aroma, with quite strong alcohol. It offers little sweetness, rather tending toward an astringent bitterness with subdued agave and herbal flavours. Finishes rapidly with mild agave, slight minerals and a moderate, but brief alcohol burn. I was expecting something better from this anejo, remembering well and fondly Espolon Reposado. It tends to be a bit thin in viscosity, flavour, depth and character.

The tequila is a dark golden yellow color. Beginning with intense caramel and floral aromas, the deeper aromas include moderate vanilla and mild fruity scents. On the tip of the tongue there is a mellow and soft sensation that is followed by a low sweetness and low bitter taste. Upon tasting, the tequila has intense agave, floral, and earth with mild fruit, vanilla, and smoke flavors. Espolon Anejo tequila finishes with a medium-to-short duration of flavor and tingly alcohol intensity. Overall, I rate this tequila at the B+ level.
