I discovered it on my last trip to Oaxaca and met with Florencio and his palenqueros in one of the small villages outside of Oaxaca. I must say the process initially intrigued me more than the product. But, they have done their homework and all the bits meld together to provide an exceptional Mezcal. It's a keeper.

Extremely complex, lots of flavor from nose to finish. The addition of fruit is definitely noticable, but not overpowering the maguey and despite the triple-distillation, this spirit still maintains that signature smoked agave taste. A little rough on the finish from the higher alcohol content, but nothing a drop or two of water cant fix. Retails a bit over $200 and not always readily available, it makes an excelent addition to a collection, and something to keep hidden from the Patron drinking friends. Definitely one of my new favorites.
