I was not aware of the new packaging. I can't imagine a new bottle and packaging changing the taste.....I think I need to find a new bottle and try it. If it does have a different taste, then I need to start stocking up now on the current DJ 1942

We did a side by side and did notice a slight difference in taste where I liked the juice in the new bottle better and my wife preferred the juice in the green bottle. Although I also don't think the recipe was changed for this new bottling, I think it just might be a difference from batch to batch.

I really hope this rumor doesn’t take hold. If it was a small independent company then I can understand some variations in taste from batch to batch. However, this is a Diageo brand and they strive for consistency. I heard a similar rumor when they took over Ron Zacapa rum. Changing the taste of any of their brands is the last thing they want to do. Causes nothing but trouble with loyal drinkers. I will have to get the new bottle and try for myself.

I personally think the difference is night and day. I perfer the new one as it tastes more like tequila and less like vanilla additives. Most tequila fans who have tasted it like the new one but the ones who only like 1942 when it comes to tequila have been bigger fans of the old. It is definitely still 42 but they have changed something.

Hell, I've had juice from the same bottle taste different from one day to the next.

Seth,

when does this deal end?

Also, do you have any of the new bottles in?

This deal ends 2/9/2010. Unfortunately, I don't currently have the new bottles.
