CO Tequila Aficionados' first tasting
I have told a few people around here that I was starting a tequila tasting club here in Denver, CO. and I am please to anounce that we had our first tasting about two weeks ago, August 30th. I didn't get a chance to post about the event here before because I've been crazy busy at work and then I took a five day vacation last week.
The event went great. It was hosted by CHAMA and we had about 25 people showing up and a couple more people that happaned to be there joined us. we had the full line up of El Tesore de Don Felipe, plus some Jimador Anejo, Chinaco Reposado, Casa Noble Crystal, and Jose Cuervo Reserva de la Familia (2004). Drake Busch, Bar Manager at CHAMA, was nice enough to give us a little introduction to Tequila, including explanations on what Tequila is, how it is produced, some tips on tasting tequila and some recommendations of tequilas we might want to try.
I am also working on a website for the group, and I am planning on releasing it sometime next week, I'll keep you all posted on that. here are some pictures frome the event. If any of you are ever traveling to Denver, drop me a line, maybe we'll have a tasting that week. The next tasting won't be until the middle of next month due to scheduling issues with my job, family events and some more traveling, and it will probably be a bit more expensive (this first one was only $10.00 per person)
