Default Pairing Food With Tequila

I was just wondering about pairing different foods with tequila. Usually I would rather sip something without alcohol with my dinner but I drink before and afterwards. I find that there are some stuff I make or go out to eat and have that taste good with margaritas like tacos and the such. Do yall have any particular pairings when you have a certain tequila or tequila drink with your meal? Cooking with tequila seems fun but all the recipes on here require more supplies and prep time than I have to spend. So I'd rather just have a drink beside my plate. Maybe I'm weird but I only like beer with hamburgers and hot dogs. I prefer a glass of ice water with my steak and potatoes.

For me, I enjoy just about anything with Tequila...my favorites are are on the side of seafood, (shrimp, fish, scallops, etc). I have a hard time with Chinese food and tequila for some reason.

Chinese beer goes best with chinese food... but I drink tequila with anything and everything. Unless my wife really wants to open a good bottle of red wine, I'm drinking tequila with dinner.

Yeah, I guess I prefer cheaper drinks if I am going to drink with a meal. I like to sit back and enjoy more premium drinks after dinner though. Then again, an extra anejo in a reidel wont quench your thirst too much if you have something hot and spicy...a margarita will for sure.
