Default Dallas, Texas

Dallas is known for it's hip, trendy, upscale restaurants. And recently added a new Mexican-Chic, restaurant to it's A-list. Trece Restaurant and Tequila Lounge. This place is awesome! With it's over 150 premium tequilas, it'll have a grown man down on his knees bowing to it's great wall of Agave Spirits. Ultra premium names like Seleccion Suprema, Don Julio Real, Rey Sol, Paradiso, Milagro Romance, and the list goes on and on. House Specialty drinks like their Pinarindo Margarita, Sally Chihuahua and it's "ultimate margarita" Stodg-a-rita,named after Dallas' famous barrister Steve Stodghill, and his lovely wife. The Stodgarita includes Seleccion Suprema (yes that's correct) fresh mexican lime juice, organic Agave nectar, and a splash of red bull. This drink is definitely worth it's hefty price tag. Samples or "flights" of tequilas are sold also for very reasonable prices. and thier online menu list' like a who's who of premuim tequilas.(check it out)
www.trecerestaurant.com
The atmosphere is that of an ultra hip lounge on one side, and upscale restaurant on the other, with appitizers like Guacamole en Molcajete (prepared tableside) and Yucatan Tuna Ceviche are my favs. It's gets even better with entrees like Langosta Capeada, and Steak "Enojado", and of course their signature desserts. So when in Dallas, make it your mission, to try Trece, you'll be glad you did.

I went to Trece this past friday evening for my 5yr. anniversary., and Steven the GM took care of us. This guy went out of his way to greet us and show us to our table, and even had a nice corner table set up for us along with a beautiful bouquet of tropical flowers that i had delivered earlier that day, waiting for my wife, Steven is awesome. I had there Supreme flight, which consisted of three of there best, HSS, Don Julio Real, & 1942. Awesome, we also had there awesome Bluberry Mojito, and Pomegrante Margarita, and their Salty Chihuahua. I know it's sounds like alot to drink but man was it worth it! The food and service were awesome....

Sounds like a great place! I should ride my motorcycle down through Texas, plus my buddy wants to go to Austin, maybe we could meet up for a nice dinner and tasting.

it sounds like a plan, just let me know when, and i'll set the whole thing up......
I hear Austin has a couple of good bars, not any official tequila bars, but tons of bars on 6th street, for you know the college kids, i've been there a couple of times, too bad i can't remember a damn thing........ those patron shots really do a number on you, when you mix'em with beer......

New Agave Azul Location:
This past weekend, I had the opportunity to stop by over @ Agave Azul's new location for a private grand opening, let me tell you, if you ever had the opportunity to stop by their original location, you already know that their food is great, but this new location has something the other location didn't, and that's character, Zotico, struck gold with this new location, to be able to be located in old town Carrolton was the perfect ambiance for his new endeavor, they did an excellent job with designing the new place with a more rustic, old world Mexican Hacienda look, my hats off to Zotico and his entire family, and to all his supporters, make sure you stop by and check the place out, and make sure to try his drinks, Zotico always has something up his sleeve, and that goes for the drink department, with his twist on the traditional Margarita, you'll be coming back to this hotspot for his specialty drinks for years to come. I was able to snap a few pictures of the event, so when you get a chance, log onto www.flickr.com , and search " the agave azul " they should all pop up, and if it looks like they are just repeating the same pics over and over, click on the small dallas picture icon, and that should redirect you to the home page with all 60+ pics... let me know what ya'll think. So there you have it the new location is definitely going to get people talking, and if you are ever in the Dallas Metroplex area, make it one of your "must do" things on your list, you'll be glad you did. http://theagaveazul.com

Austin is wonderful...

You will find every kind of bar you could possibly think of down on 6th. Make sure to prepare for late night fun as it is crowded down there till at least 4am every weekend night. The atmosphere is lovely to bar hop and try different spirits...

My friend and I are coming to Dallas April 24th for my birthday and later attending the Van Halen concert. Whats the best place in Dallas to sip premium tequila and have a decent meal? The concert is at the American Airlines Arena so some where close to theat would be great.
Thanks in advance!
