Here are few other great resturants/bars that I have been to in Mexico.
1. The one & only Palmilla San Jose Cabo. 1-866-829-2977, www.oneandonlyresorts.com.
The adult pool bar is a great place to hang during the day sampling the many great tequilas. For Happy hour, I would recommend the Aqua Bar ,which is absolutely gorgeous and has a very nice selection of tequila as well.

2. Four Seasons Hotel Punta Mita, Bahia de Banderas Nayarit Mexico about 40 minutes outside Puerta Vallarta Ph. 52 329 291 6000. www.fourseasons.com
This hotel has two pool bars and Aramora resturant/lounge. Both pool bars offer a wide selection of Tequilas and the resturant offers a high end tequila menu along with a Tequila paring menu. They also have an introduction to Tequila sampling "free" once or twice a week which gives you the history and a tatsing.

Santo Coyote Resturant in Guadalajara is one of the most unique resturants that I have ever been too. There is a huge Banyan tree that canopy's over the outdoor dining area and has hanging lights made out of gords. The inside dining is open to the outside to give a very nice feel of being outside while still inside. They have a very nice selection of Tequilas, I am guessing 50+ and the food was very good. They also have a night club attached, so if you want to dine late and then party at the club, you won't have to go far.

Pancho's in Cabo.

I had the pleasure of eating and drinking at Pancho's. It is a nice outdoor... sort of restaurant just a few blocks off the main street/marina, kinda behind squid row.. They have a large selection of tequilas and the best part is you get to try the tequilas that are only sold in Mexico. I was talking with the head bartender and ended up finding out the owner lived near me in California and the bartender actually worked at the golf club I belong to, what a small world. Anyhow, food was good, tequila was great and the staff friendly.

We spent a week in Cancun last summer and I had looked forward to going to La Destilleria from all I had read. They had an OK selection of tequila, but overall I wasn't blown away by the food or atmosphere.

What about places to buy tequila in Tijuana? We frequently go down to San Diego for weekends and sometimes just to eat at Old Town Mexican Cafe and have a drink at El Agave. The bartenders at El Agave indicated we should think about going to Tijuana to pick up tequila at really good prices - they indicated Herradura Selection Suprema could be had for $160 a bottle. Is there a duty free shop in Tijuana for day visitors? Take a cab from San Diego and back? Take a tour? I would prefer not to take either of my cars - corvette or customized truck.

What are your thoughts / suggestions?

Thanks.

Robert
