I am told that there is also a huge liquor store in LV but I have been searching the internet and have not come up with anything. Does anyone have any information on it? I am beginning to wonder if it is an urban myth.

Lee's Discount liquors has a good selection and great prices, but the staff didn't seem to be very knowledgable. They have locations all over Las Vegas.

The Isla bar at Treasure Island has an excellent selection and a knowledgable bartender. They feature "fleets" with tasting size shots of three tequilas. We tried the Supreme fleet which featured El Tesoro Paradiso, Don Julio 1942 and Herradura Supreme. Comes in a neat spiral wrought iron display and includes two glasses of Sangrita for $60. We also tried a glass of Don Passion Anejo on the bartenders recommendation and it was excellent and of a generous size. She also mentioned they were about to add another 30 tequilas including Porfidio.

Thanks for the reviews on the LV area. Lee's does sound like it was probably the place I had heard about.

Diego Mexican Restaurant in the MGM Las Vegas

I ate at this restaurant about a year ago. They have a very nice selection of Tequila and are very proud of it. They wanted over a hundred dollars for a shot of the Porfido Barrique and told me that they had the very last bottle in existance, when I told them that others had bottles, the guy told me I was wrong and when I told him that I own three botltes, he basically called me a liar.
Bottom line, the food was good, the tequila selection is good and the pricing is high.

The bar manager, right!??!!? LOL

I got into a huge discussion with him over the exact same thing. So, I made my hubby run up to the room (We were staying in the Lofts) and grab my laptop. I then proceeded to show him my bottles of Barrique! lol He didn't like me but his bartender gave me a free drink lol.

Also, the 3 Liter of 3-4-5 they have is very neat looking in the shadow box ...

Another Off Strip Site ..

Real Traditional Mexican Food, very good tequila selection. Un-Las Vegas like prices - Lindo Michocan. Ask any valet or bell man!

Even though the guy is a bit of a "duffis"...... and it's a bit pricey....it is sure beats those maragritas in the 72oz three foot tall glasses down form them in the mall.

Went to Vegas over the weekend... Had dinner at Boarders Grill at the Mandalay Bay hotel. The food was excellant and they have a very nice selection of tequila. I had my first taste of Chinaco Negro #15. The tequila was wonderful, although they pour their drinks a little tight and the price was $65 with a service charge of $10, so a bit pricey, but still worth tasting it without openning my bottles. Also, stopped in at Diego's in the MGM and spoke with the manger for a while. This time he was a bit more friendly and generous with some Espolon anejo.

I highly recommend having lunch, dinner or drinks at Boarders Grill.

I'll be heading to Las Vegas next week on business and I wanted to see if I could get any updates. I'm very interested in a short list of tequila bars, as I won't be there very long, and some liquor stores that would have good prices and selections unavailable here the midwest. Any suggestions?

I think Vegas and tequila might be the perfect combination.
