Quickly appending my previous post.... I will be staying at the Flamingo, and bars close to the hotel/convention (at the Venetian) would be ideal.

It looks like Isla Mexican Kitchen, Tacos tequila, and Club tequila would all be within walking distance. Is there any recent information about these bars/restaurants?

Cool dos caminos las vegas

My choice as a p/t resident of LV (LVCC) is Dos Caminos at the Palazzo, next to the Venetian. I really like the Palazzo, and Dos CAminos has an intersting menu and 125 or so Tequilas. they even put their Tequila list with shot prices, and description of the taste online. A bit pricey, but the place is happenin´ !!

They have DJ 1942 on the Extra Anejo flight...isnt it only a 2 year anejo? I'd still order the extra anejo flight with the 1942...but Casa Noble X Anejo would be a better one to put on the list and it would lower the price of the flight some.

I feel the pricing for the extra anejos are a bit odd. Don Julio Real, Partida Elegante are much cheaper than the Patron Burdeos and the Chinaco Negro (which is the most expensive).

To buy tequila, Lee's is definitely the spot for variety. I bought 1921 Esp Repo, Voodoo Tiki Anejo and Herencia Mexicana Anejo. The Herencia was overpriced, but the other 2 seemed normal, so their price structure may be a bit inconsistant. But those were all kinds I cant buy, or even try, where I live.

If you're staying on the strip, I suggest stopping in the Pink Taco, they have a Casa Noble machine .. mmm.

Just came back from a weekend in Vegas.
Went back to Boarders in the Mandalay Bay were we had a wonderful meal a couple of years ago.....a lot has changed since then. The menu has changed to more of a standard Mexican style of food instead of the gourmet style we had last time. In addition, the food was over priced and not very good.

The server was great and was the one that brought up the pricing and was embarrassed to tell us that they charge for the tap water. The server wanted the customers to write down there complaints on a questioner. I think he is concerned that the restaurant might not make it....although it was some what busy to me.

I drank 4 Copas anejo at $13 a shot, which I though was fair and this time the shots weren't so small.

Since the menu has changed and the pricing has gone up, I would not recommend this place anymore, unless you want a so so meal and some tequila.

i liked Diablos in the Monte Carlo when I went. I dont know how entensive the selection was, but i know there were some of the more expensive bottles in there from looking behind the counter. decent place, and they have a wheel they spin every half hour. and whatever drink it lands on is 3 bucks for 30 minutes. so couple that with the buy 1 get 1 free coupons they are always handing out, and you got yourself 2 margaritas for 3 bucks when it lands on it.

Plus they have some pretty funny tshirts for sale. I thought food was decent also.

I'm a native of Las Vegas, but only began to enjoy tequila about a year before I made my escape to Florida, so my knowledge is somewhat limited. For what it's worth, though:

Though they don't have a huge tequila list, our new favorite restaurant in town is Tacos & Tequila at the Luxor, where La Salsa used to be (Tacos and Tequila). They have a good selection, relatively fair pricing (Herradura Seleccion Suprema $65), and a tequila cocktail menu. Specifically, there's a drink called "Choke on the Smoke" (basically a 2-1-1 made with mezcal) that they used to rim with a pulvarized mixture of salt, spices, and dried gusano. Sadly, they can no longer source the rim stuff, but it's a tasty drink nonetheless. The food is really good, too, so you don't feel like you have to choke down average slop in order to drink well.

For family-style dining that's more of a locals place (not to mention mariachi fun), there's Las Palmas in Commercial Center. Limited tequila selection, though, but an all around fun place. In fact, try lots of food in Commercial Center - it has the best hole-in-the-wall places in town.

To purchase bottles, you can't beat Lee's Discount Liquors. Particularly, if you have a car at your disposal, there's a great selection at the store at Buffalo and Lake Mead Blvd., and what looks like a superstore is getting ready to open in my old hood of Rainbow and Flamingo.

We look forward to trying out some other places when we visit in September...

Default Bellagio Club Prive

If you like to gamble and enjoy fine Liquors, you might want to check out Club Prive at the Bellagio.

They serve some of the finest liquors around. On the shelf was Chinaco 30th Emperador and Del Maguey "Tobalo" Mezcal.
