Default Which Anejo is better?

I'm going to get a good Anejo for New Years Eve. I personally am more of a reposado and blanco drinker but after tasting Don Valente and Don Julio Anejos throughout this year, its opened my eyes more to aged tequilas...

Here is what I can find locally with pricing...which is the better tequila? which is the better deal?

Penca Azul Anejo - 90.00
Jose Cuervo Reserva De La Famalia Anejo - 110.00
4 Copas Anejo - 90.00
El Gran Jubileo Anejo - NOT SURE WHERE I CAN FIND THIS BUT ITS SOMEWHERE AROUND CENTRAL TEXAS

Yeah, local pricing sucks and the selection is limited but within an hour from my home, I can find all of these at these prices. I've been wanting to try each of those anejos but I cant pin point which one to start with.

You can't really go wrong with any of those, but I personally would go for the 4 Copas or Penca Azul. El Gran Jubileo is probably the sweetest in flavor, JCRDLF usually sits in my collection.

I wish the presentation looked better for the El Gran Jubileo...when it comes to me, presentation means nothing. But for a new years eve get together with friends...the pretty bottles grab more attention and people start to lose sight of the quality.

Lucky for me Penca Azul is a convorsation starter...so is JCRDLF. I'll probably shoot for Penca Azul, I'm hoping I can find it locally for less than 90.00 but I dont think I will. I hope its worth every penny!

Any more suggestions? Maybe something other than whats listed?

I say the Penca or 4 Copas. The Penca is rarer for me to see at bars so I would go with that.

In that price bracket, if you can find it, i would just get El Tesoro Paradiso. It was right around $100 when i bought it. If I had to pick from your selection, I would say the Penca.

I can find Paradiso but its about 149.99 around here.

I didnt ever pick my anejo for New Years. I have the money set aside but I decided that I didnt want everyone to use the best tequila I could afford for their drunken pleasure.

I should pick up my anejo in the next week or 2. I'll keep my eye out for Paradiso, I've only seen it at one store locally.

Where are you seeing 4 Copas here in Texas? I always have to order it from out of state. I'm very excited to hear that it finally made it out here.

Down in Austin at Specs Warehouse.

They had a limited supply about 6 months ago when I went down there. I hope it wasnt a trial and error type of thing. I've seen some very random bottles on the shelves locally and it seems like the retailers want to see what kind of return they get before purchasing a quanity. Specs had only about 5 bottles on the shelf.

I just saw TequilaME Extra Anejo on the shelves for about 60.00. Anybody know much about this anejo? I didnt think it had been reviewed on tequila.net yet. If its good I'd like to try it...

Tomorrow I am going to go get Penca Azul Blanco. A friend brought it by and let me sample it. Penca Azul just arrived in Waco about a month ago and I tipped him off to go get a bottle. ITS AMAZING! I'm very excited now. I know I made this thread wanting to go purchase an anejo for New Years but I decided I would rather splurge in multiple brands instead of one bottle. This happends almost everytime I go in the liquor store...just too much stuff out there to try, and never enough money for it all!
