Here are the pictures he sent to me.
I will add the others on another reply, due to restrictions on qty per reply. My recommendation to him was to contact Sauza and some of the distilleries. I would think they would have someone that should be able to help.

Check out the museum web site: www.euvs.org.

man, those are some friggin' awesome....old school bottles, doesn't get anymore vintage than that, and the site it pretty cool, weird to think that people actually appreciate stuff like this, i thought we were on our own planet, but nice to know the word is getting out there.

Very Interesting bottles, but I don't see blanco, reposado or anejo mentioned on any of them.

Wow, I have not looked at this thread in awhile. Great old bottles! Did anyone ever date any of these? I'm guessing 50's and 60's on the Sauzas.

Default The Oldest Tequila Bottle

Here is one for the history books. I don't know if anyone has seen anything like this before. It is roughly 6 inches in diameter, and probably would hold about a pint of liquid. It has a small pottery shot glass, tied to it. There is some evidence that this jug was corked and sealed with a hard wax seal. The closest vessel that I have seen, is an antique olla canteen, which is a spherical corked pottery jug, in a cloth or net bag.

I would guess that this is a vintage piece from roughly 1900, or before. It might be one of the first attempts to offer a tequila product, to a wider market, on a commercial basis. Perhaps offered from a private maker.

Hand Painted Lettering it says in spanish Recuerdo de Oaiaca "Memories of Oaiaca" and on the bottom is Peihuya or something like that. Anyway, your input would be appreciated

A friend of mine sells all sorts of Mexican furniture, wood and anything that looks old and cool. He goes to Mexico 6 times a year and travels all over the place finding stuff.

I have seen these hand painted wood tequila jugs at his store. I don't think the jugs he brought back are old at all, but they look old.....it would be interesting to find out if you really have one of the old ones. Let us know what you come up with.
