Default Ley .925

This bottle was given to me from a friend who got it from someone affiliated with the company. I don't know much about it other than what I was able to find on the internet. I am not by any means a tequila aficionado, just looking for some information. From what I have seen, it seems that it could be a pretty high dollar tequila. I am looking for any background on it as well as if I should look into selling it or just drink it. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Haven't seen this bottle before, maybe only for sale in Mexico.

Ley.925 has quite a variety of Exotic / Expensive bottles, but the juice seems to be the same.

I would like to hear what you find out about your bottle....good luck

Don't drink it.. the value is the sealed bottle, not the tequila inside ( in any way at all ). I'm sure it says on the bottle or box somewhere 1/1.
I'll keep my opinions on this brand limited to that.

Question Ley .925

Do any of you tequileros have a bottle of Ley .925 anejo special edition? From what I am hearing from you guys about this bottle, that it is a collectors brand! I have a bottle of Ley.925 special edition [silver box] I am afraid of tasting the tequila due to the value & rareness of this brand! Wich is the same problem I have with my bottles of Porfidio anejo! the value is in the rareness of the bottle not the actual taste of the tequila itself!! What do you guys think? I would appreciate some feedback from any of you guys! THANKS!!

I have the regular bottles of Ley .925 and the juice is just ok to me. Haven't tried the special edition.

I started out collecting for the fun of it. I always bought 2 bottles, so I could drink one and save one.

I have stopped collecting and have been selling off my bottles and have been pleasantly surprised with the value gained on the bottles.

I wouldn't miss out out on tasting the tequila, because you think the bottle will go up in value. Unfortunately, you have a classic and great tasting tequila "Porfidio", if you haven't tasted, it is something you should.

Question tequila ley .925 bottle?

About 8 to 10 years ago I was at a friends house and he said he had just gotten back from jalisco & bought a case of PORFIDIO tequila! he is a generous person, he gave me 2 bottles of PORFIDIO tequila I dont remember if it was reposado or anejo but I like the tequila not to mention the bottle!
I was not to much into tequila then. I was more impressed with the bottle I willhave to agree. Not knowing that this bottle would become a classic! So i bought a 50 ml bottle of PORFIDIO anejo just so that I will not have to open a 750 ml bottle! I want to buy a bottle of REY SOL but I am going to be in the
same problem as LEY.925 that if I open it & drink it It has no value!! IT IS TOUGH BEEN A COLLECTOR!!

Over the years I've always made my feelings clear regarding those who collect and/or drink. For those who have the financial resources to buy multiple bottles...one to collect and at least one or two to drink....then I think that is fantastic! Tequila bottles are the most beautiful works of art in the spirits industry and they are lovely to display for all to see. For me personally, I have never been in the financial position to be able to afford to become a "collector". I always first make sure that the mortgage and household bills are taken care of first. When all the dust settles, whatever spare cash is leftover, is used on my "hobby", which is tinkering at my tropical Tiki Tequila Bar. It has worked out pretty well since my current inventory is well over 300 different varieties of agave spirits! Many are hard to find and no longer produced, many are easily found. The majority of my bottles are opened and I have sampled many great tequilas, mezcals, sotols, etc. over the years with family and friends....no regrets! My viewpoint on this topic is that life goes by fast and is too short not to have the opportunity to taste great tequila! In my world, I would much rather crack open a rare and expensive bottle and SIP, SAVOR, and TASTE IT...while I'm still around to do it...rather than look at a bottle sitting on a shelf!

I will second that. Fernando Altamirano has done a wonderful job creating many collectible styles of luxury bottles, but it is obvious that more thought has gone into the design than in the juice.
