Default eBay

I've been finding a lot of unique tequilas, but sometimes I wonder if they are knock-offs. Does anyone have any experience buying tequila on eBay?

Try looking through the threads to form your own opinion......some people are happy with what they have purchased and others are weary.

I personally have never bought, but I have sold on Ebay

I was trying to avoid that, LOL. I can tell from your post you are in the category of "not buying on eBay."

I just bought my sixth bottle off of ebay and have been satisfied so far. Hawaii has a limited selection and I seem to get better deals on the shipping when buying from ebay.

I've both bought and sold on e-bay. I've noticed the prices are kind of high. You have to watch for good deals and know what you're buying. Make sure you check the size of the bottle- many are 50 ml or 375 ml. People keep trying to push the Cabo Blanco for $50+ for a 375 ml bottle, when I can buy it for $23 plus hipping for a 750 ml!

I've also bought lots of swag on e-bay. Lights, glasses, banners, etc.

I've been trying to find out information on how to ship full bottles legally and am coming up with nothing. I see that people are using the USPS on Ebay...clearly illegal. I also see people using UPS...against company policy. How do you guys ship or have bottles shipped to you legally? TIA!

Here is a perfect example of a bogus Jose Cuervo bottle on ebay....Tequila Jose Cuervo Anejo Collector Bottle - eBay (item 140480562475 end time Dec-19-10 16:53:03 PST)

The bottle shows the wooden cork in the neck with a plastic shrink wrap....the original bottles came with a cork and red melted wax on top and the wooden cork wrapped around the neck (Pictured Below)......beware

blagave, that is true that the 1st version had the red wax seal and cork to the side but I have found numerous ones in different liquor stores that have the cork in them like this bottle so I am assuming it came at a later date. Just wanted to let you know that I believe there are two versions.

Not that this bottle is going to be flying off the market soon; but... I too would 2nd the motion to proceed with caution.

I have both types of bottles unopened; and bought and drank both types. I have never seen this particular bottle shrink wrapped; and would also note that this is a very unimpressive shrink wrap job.

Just my observations..
