Default Are there any limited releases to look for?

I am new to this guys, but like other quality libations, I am assuming that there are limited releases that are worthy of looking for when visiting the liquor shops. Have there been any over the last year or two that are worthy of keeping an eye out for?

A few:
Chinaco Negro
El Tesoro 70th Aniversario
Don Fernando TKO
1800 Tequila Artist Bottles

You can find many more LE bottles from brands, 4 Copas, Casino Azul, Asombroso, Penca Azul, Ley .925, Clase Azul, Dos Lunas, Jose Cuervo, Milagro, etc.

If you ever visit Phoenix they have the El Tesoro Paradiso Phoenician limited edition that was limited to only 330 bottles. It can be purchased only at the Phoenician Resort.

I went window shopping, so to speak, at three of the larger Lee's Liquor Stores in my area. I did so because I was told by the Tequila Guy in the store that every store had many of the same brands but each store also had a variety of other brands as well, depending on that stores buyer and what sold best in their areas.

I found both the Tesoro 70th ($150) and El Tesoro Don Felipe ($140). One of the other stores had a few 1800 Artist Bottles. There were many other bottles that seemed to be Limited or Special Editions between the 3 stores but far too many for me to make notes on. If anyone is looking for any particular ones, let me know and I'll be happy to check for you.

There were also many bottles that listed for several hundred dollars and up to five or six hundred dollars. A few were over $1000.

You can do much better price-wise online for the Aniversario and the Paradiso. I wouldn't pay more than 90-100 less shipping for each of those. Even in WA state run stores the Paradiso goes for 110 incl tax. Shoppers Vineyard has the Aniversario for $99 and the Paridiso for $89 plus shipping.

You can find many limited production 500.00+ bottles. I myself have not tried these nor plan on it in the future. As for the 1800 Artist bottles, I would consider them collector items and leave them unopened...you can find the same juice for less and the quality is average to below average in my opinion.

Thumbs up

Here is what I received from the brand owner of DeLeon:

We are in limited production. Robb Report is on press as saying the Diamante is the finest silver they have ever tasted.

Because of our huge celebrity following, we are sold out and currently have a waiting list for the next run.

Our first run was 60,000 bottles and we may not make much more each year.

I haven't sampled it yet, but the bottle is nice. Sandblasted logo, heavy square bottle, excellent topper...

I'm worried that the "over presentation" hides a mediocre juice...especially if they are advertising to celebrities...

Darrin, I feel you are a celebrity...let us know if you land a bottle ;-)
