Hacienda de Chihuahua Sotol

After visiting Chihuahua I had a chance to try several other sotol brands, and visit with the head of the Sotol Regulatory Council, who said there are approximately 60 different brands of Sotol in the area.

Hacienda de Chihuahua's new product, a 5 year anejo Sotol is expected to hit the market this year.

I did snap some pictures of other sotol brands and will be adding them to the reviewable agave product list soon.

i went down to the beverage depot, and bought a couple of bottles of this HDC on tuesday, they look pretty cool, i'll try'em this weekend.

you know i have a lunch meeting with Mariana Mendoza on friday, she represents HDC,and tequila 1921 here in Dallas, and she wants to sponsor our group.

DON'T KNOW WHAT ALL THE RAVES ARE FOR SOTOL HACIENDA CHIHUAHUA. THE STUFF ALMOST TASTES LIKE TEQUILA. LITTLE DIFFERENCE. STATES LIKE COAHUILA AND DURANGO ALSO MAKE SOTOL. IT'S GOOD STUFF. THOSE STATES ALSO USE IT TOO HELP FERMENT WITH FRUITS. REALLY SWEET BEVERAGE BUT NASTY HANGOVER. I THINK I WILL LOOK FOR SOTOL HACIENDA CHIHUAHUA 5 ANOS. MUST BE BETTER THA THE FORMER.

Im interested too and I have spoken with reps from the company but still in the dark on this extra anejo...

I hope it makes it to the market sometime.

I have heard several things, but one can only hope... as soon as I hear I will post a date.

And yes, now it should be seis instead of cinco.
