Default Hangar One Vodka

Has anyone ever tried Hangar One Vodka?

Hangar One Vodka

They offer 7 varieties:

Straight/Plain
Chipotle
Citron "Buddha's Hand"
Fraser River Raspberry
Kaffir Lime
Spiced Pear
Mandarin Blossom

Hangar One has a very unique distilling process. They use a blend of Viognier grapes in the mix to soften the harshness of the vodka. I tried the Fraser River Raspberry which had so much flavor. It's made from fresh raspberries, unlike the chemical extracts that other companies use. I had the plain vodka too, but I'm eager to try their other bottles. Which one is your favorite?

Is Hanger One's process anything like Ciroc? I know I like what the use of grapes does to the flavor.

I have never tried Ciroc but I have read that they are low-quality... Hangar One is more like Ketel One and Chopin. Top of the line.

There's less than a $5 difference between the two here in WA. Chopin and Ciroc are the same price. Kettle One is $16 more. I know price doesn't always equal quality but when it is all state controlled, it does mean they are paying the same from the distributors.

Yes, but I never said anything about price. It's the quality that counts. Hangar One, Ketel One and Chopin are all about the same price where I live. They are my favorite three vodkas. Chopin makes a great vodka, which is unusual since it's made from potato. It wins more taste tests than any other vodka.

I like Hangar One because their flavored vodkas are just as good as their plain vodka... And they're all 40% ABV, unlike some who market 35% ABV for their flavored vodkas.

Good article... I tried the "Jewel of Russia" earlier this year at a friends house. He is from Russia, and is always talking about the best vodka, so we get together every year or two to sample the best vodkas and tequilas.

I don't drink much vodka, but out of the 4 brands we tried that one was way better than the others, and had more flavor than what I would expect from vodka.

I'll keep an eye out for Hanger One and give it a shot.

Which vodka is the best? - By Alex Abramovich - Slate Magazine
I can remember a while back in N.J., a Hanger One rep came to a friend's restaurant to do a tasting. I distinctly remember that brand scoring very high grades. My wife is more of a vodka drinker than I, so occasionally I will pick up a bottle of the HO plain specifically for her. As far as potato vodkas go, have you tried Tito's Handmade Vodka? It is a smaller batch distillery out of Texas and my wife really prefers that over all of them. I know that it was rated over Goose, Absolut, Stoly......for whatever that is worth!

Never tried Tito's Potato Vodka... I avoid Absolut like the plague and the Goose is overpriced vodka in a nice bottle. Stoli is a nice choice for a good price relative to other bottles. Most Russian vodkas are quality. Normally, I can't drink vodka straight like I do tequila, but some of the pricier Russian stuff like "Jewel of Russia" is so smooth that you can.

Talking Tito of Texas

Tito's is fantastic, Jim. Very highly-rated and reasaonably priced. Whenever I place an order with Shopper's Vineyard I have Seth throw in a bottle.

MargaritaLover... SV is where I buy my liquor, but I have never seen Tito's Potato Vodka. I cannot seem to find it on their website either; can you send me a direct link if it exists? Also, I'm assuming you meant that you pay for it when you said that Seth throws in a bottle. How much does it cost?
