Xtabentun
Long time lurker, first time poster!
D'Aristi Xtabentun is found in tourist shops for 9-10 dollars. Bought a small 200 ml bottle for about three dollars last May and one bored evening thought I'd give it a try. Turns out... it's amazing. A Mayan anisette-honey liqueur which would be great in coffee or hot chocolate, but I enjoy it neat. In Playa del Carmen, I found it for seven USD at La Europea, on Calle Corazon, off Fifth Avenue (visible from Fifth, you don't have to search for it). The litre bottle was available at Cancun Duty Free for fifteen USD.
I also tried Agavero tequila liqueur which was delicious as well - you can definitely taste the tequila, but it's pretty sweet. Mexico is a land of enchanting boozes -- 1921 Crema is Kryptonite to me.
