I would not go for the 2 bottles of Dos Lunas Anejo. And I've heard mixxed reviews about Oro Azul Anejo. You cant go wrong with El Tesoro and I have never tried Casa Noble Anejo; but I've heard its well worth the money. Maybe wait till its on sale?
As for the Milagro SBR Anejo....that is a wonderful tequila and looks great in any collection. I can personally vouch and say to this day, I base my reviews for tequilas off of The SBR Anejo and DJ 1942. Those 2 tequilas are the best I have ever had and worth the hefty penny I spent on both bottles.

If cost is an issue, I would say try it first either at a bar or tasting. I think the Milagro SB Reposado is much better than the Anejo, but you will also be paying extra for presentation. I've done the Milagro SB head to head to the standard Milagro, flavors are extremely close with more of a bite on the standard, but half the price.
The whole CN family is good, but that anejo price jump is almost double from the reposado. |

I did a sample tasting at Malo with malomateo last week, and the main one we focused on was the Casa Noble line.
Again, I must reiterate my blanco preference, but I was BLOWN away at how tasy the Casa Noble repo and anejo were. If I had the extra cash to splurge, I would splurge on Casa Noble.

I personally really like the CN anejo, but another driving force may be that they will be replacing that bottle soon with the more "modern" looking one, so the current bottle may have a little more by way of collectibility.....

Well now... I may be in the minority here, but I am not a big fan of the CN anejo.
Remember that Casa Noble anejo is aged for FIVE years in French Oak. This is more of an extra-anejo than your standard 1-3 year anejo and that may account some for the price jump. The repo is aged 364 days, so you are talking 5 times the wait for a CN anejo. While I enjoy the CN blanco and repo (although I drink the repo when I am in the mood for an anejo) quite a bit and have gone through several bottles, I bought a bottle of CN anejo for the online tasting. After the tasting and doing my review, I haven't touched it since. Pueblo Viejo Orgullo is amazing and I would have to recommend that over CN anejo. San Matias Gran Reserva is also a great choice at $28 for a 375ml. |
