Default Red bottle Corralejo Añejo ????

New here first post.

My wife made a recent trip to border and came back with a red bottle of Corralejo Añejo. I chilled it and popped the cork and there were red chips floating in it. I am assuming it to be paint and not safe to drink. I am curious if anyone else has seen this?

Could it be a redish cork bits?

If not and the bottle isn't broken itself, then I am guessing there was an accident just before bottling and some new bottles where broken in the same case/shipment before filling. A coloured bottle would make it impossible to see anything in it.

Turns out is was plastic. The bottle is not red at all but covered in red cellophane like plastic. Filtered it out and it was fine.

The inside of the bottle is covered in plastic? That is extremely wierd. I wonder why they would do that.

Always comes down to cost...

Someone must have found a less expensive way to make glass look colored, but it sounds like they didn't test it thoroughly. :P

Seems at least a few are like that. I know Trago does the same, my mom tried to put an empty bottle in the dishwasher (she collects blue bottles) and the heat made the blue plastic wrap come off.

cUTTING CORNERS, THAT WHAT THE WORLD IS ALL ABOUT, FIND THE MOST INEXPENSIVE WAY TO GET SOMETHING DONE. Speaking of which, damn I'm tired of watching all these "flip this house" "house flipper" "quick flip" list goes on and on , these people know all about cutting corners, freaking cheap skates! ( i know it's way off the subject, but i just wasted 3 hours watching back to back episodes) I need a drink....... :P

No, just the outside. I set the bottle aside and when i picked it up a week or so later there was red flakes all over the counter. I looked and it was flaking off the bottom. I took a knife and was able to scrape the side down to clear glass.

My guess is that when I cut the seal on the cork i must have scraped the plastic and it got inside.
