Default New to tequila. Need suggestion!

Hello all. I used to be really into making beer but haven't had much time lately. But it's been moving me into enjoying new beverages. I've always liked patron but I'm unwilling to pay that much. Plus everything I've read says it's overpriced. I've recently tried espolon silver, 1800, also some Don Julio 1942 and Paradiso. I've come to realize I'm a tequila guy!

I'm looking for a reasonably priced blanco. Im looking for something smooth and I like when it has a round funky (footy? earthy?) flavor. I've been doing some reading but don't know enough to really know what I'm looking for. Any suggestions? I've mainly been looking at the options at my local total wine (pembroke pines FL)

Thanks!

I like all the Don Julio line and the Clase Azul Platino and Reposado. If you can get Casa Noble, (I think ABC in FLA carries the CN Blanco), it is really worth the money - I've seen it on sale for as low as 34.99, but I am up north, might be cheaper in your neck of the cypress.

Espolon is a nice tequila - and at 19.99 a bottle, priced to give you lots of your daily Vitamin T.

I never know what I'm looking for, I just know what I like when I taste it. I figure if I make "the firework noise" (you know, when the fireworks go off and you go, "ooooh!" cuz it's so beautiful), then it's a definite YES.

Congratulations on discovering your inner tequila drinker. Your world is about to open up!

Thanks for the suggestions!

That's a link to where I'll be shopping and the selection. I think I'll be going for a Reposado because I've been drinking don julio 1942 and I'm not so sure I'm ready to go back to blanco just yet. But I'm still looking for a nice round funky agave flavor.

Ok I'm gonna make this less complicated. Should I go camarena reposado or espolon reposado?

Overall Espolon is a great sipper and mixer, where Camarena is a great mixer and ok sipper. They also have Corralejo reposado for a few dollars more which is also excellent. Hope this helps.

Finally tried Camarena Repo this weekend and also the Blanco - I thought the Repo was okay but the blanco was really good! I picked up the Espolon Blanco and have not tried it yet, but I know their Repo is a great value-priced tequila. So my vote's for Espo Repo.

Also picked up the Cuervo Reserva de la Familia Platino for 59.99 at Wine World in Niagara NY. It's 79.95 in Ontario.

If you decide you want to spend a little more, $37 is a great price for El tesoro repo.
