Default Porfidio Anejo Guaje NOM 1107

Just curious on what your thoughts are concerning this tequila. Anyone out there have the pleasure of enjoying this fine spirit? I have a bottle and have never opened it. Hmmmm. To drink, or not to drink. That is the eternal question.

I think you have the NOM wrong. It should be 1462. BTW, my vote is to drink of course.

If I remember correctly, Porfidio is an "orphan" brand which has been produced in a number of distilleries, over its (sometimes checkered) history. I don't believe it has ever been a long-standing product of an established tequilera. It would be interesting to see a listing of all of the places it has called "home."

According to the listed site:

http://www.winepatrol.com/tequila/tasting/Porfidio.htm

"Porfidio tequilas have been produced by the same distilleries who make El Viejito, Arette, Tres Alegres Compadres, Regional, and J. R. Reyes tequilas. You can track your favorite Porfidio tequilas back to their original distillery if the bottle has an NOM number."

To put an even bigger twist on it, the NOM number doesn't necessarily mean the product was made at that distillery, it can also represent who was exporting the product.

The only person that knows where each product was produced would be Martin...
