If only.
I had the pleasure of seeing a bottle up on the shelf in Hacienda Tequila in Cancun. I tried to talk them down to $150 for the bottle ... they didnt go for it

I have tried, it. Its very good. But I wouldnt pay what its selling for!! Theres tequilas of equal enjoyability that sell for much less. I see it more as like a special gift or something of that nature

I have sampled it as well - at a Hi Times tasting last year. It was very very tasty, but for me when you get north of $100 per bottle is it really hard to justify a purchase unless you are a collector. While I do have a number of bottles I am a lot more interested in drinking than collecting.

I have sampled both the blanco & repo but not the Ultra. IMHO they both are on the sweeter side and I have to really be in the mood for that type of flavor profile. I wonder if the Ultra follows suit? Robert, I agree with you 100% on the "collector vs. drinker" mindset. If I do purchase a $100+ bottle of agave spirits, I refuse to let it sit on display at my bar just to admire it! Nothing against my fellow afficionados who do collect....I appreciate and understand it....but I just believe in savoring and enjoying that precious juice inside the bottle! Besides, I don't have that type of cash to collect but honestly, even if I did I still believe that I would prefer to be considered more of a drinker than collector!

Then let me ask you this Greg....might a possible 2nd visit to my Tiki Tequila Bar on your way down to Ft. Myers Beach qualify as a "special occasion?"
