Default Help me pick a new tequila to try out...

Folks,

I'm new here to the forum, but I've been lurking for a while now. I'd like to get some recommendations from you all on what I should try... Thanks to another post, I've found some resellers who will ship spirits across state lines, so I can finally gain access to some new material!

Anyway, I'm an anejo fan first, reposado second, and blanco third. Don't get me wrong, I love blancos -- but my first choice will always be rested.

My favorite anejo is Corzo. Hands down. I am not as big a fan of their reposado and blanco, however. I also really dig Corralejo and, honestly, 1800. I really like the Milagro Barrel Select Reposado. For blancos, I think I prefer Tezon right now.

Experimental/unique tequilas are also good. I really, really like Don Felipe El Tesoro Paradiso. I'm considering trying the Asombroso La Rosa. However, El Diamante del Cielo anejo I did not care for at all.

This being said, could someone make some recommendations or suggestions on what I may enjoy trying out now that I have some access again?

Thanks!

pardiso is awesome, definitely one of my favorites, now if your looking for take your breath away tequila, then try Seleccion Suprema, or even Don Julio Real, or even el rey sol, these are really good, now those are a little pricey, but you might want to try chinaco, or even casa noble, these are also some good anejos.

Tring to bring you over to the Blanco side, I would try 1921, casa noble, Don Valente, Los Abuelos, Penca Azul, El tesoro and Fina Estampa just to name a few.
I recently tried a newer bargin Anejo thats really good Orgullo from San Martinas.

Do you have a price limit? Lots of good stuff out there to recommend...

Check out the top rated page and read some of the reviews, that might help as well. I would agree with Rosco and Wichie's selections.

If you haven't tried it, Don Julio 1942 is an excellent choice. It seems to me that we have similar tastes (love Milagro Select Barrel Reserve Reposado and also enjoy 1800.) On that note I will have to try Corzo as someone with similar tastes enjoys it so much.

Don't worry, it will be more widely available in the near future. It is definitely one to purchase especailly at the price. I bought some for $35 last time I was at Hi-Time.

I tried some El Tequileno last week at Chama. I met the importer for the brand and did a quick tasting before the Spirits of Mexico dinner. Very nice, lots of agave flavor, smooth, and well priced. There are 2 reposados, and one of them won a gold medal at the SFWSC. Worth a taste...
