i just wish alcapone took paypal. and used less crumpled newspaper packaging.
Hate to rain on your parade, but the items you bought are fairly common and would have been less money from a number of reputable online retailers/stores and you would be guaranteed it was legitimate, but as long as you are comfortable with what you received, more power to you.

Note: most items people have spoke of being screwed on have been rare / hard to find tequilas and not the ones you purchased.

Trust me, im not cheap. but a very frugal, least money per liter buyer. and the deal we worked out was better than anything else I could get. and with only one negative comment in the last 12 months i thought it was worth the risk

That's Ok you're not alone in buying from AC Jr. I can't stay away from the 1L Tapatio bottles having bought 4 of the Blanco over the last couple of months. For me in WA state it is the only place to obtain it. With the tear-away tab at the top there is no way to scam the contents of the bottles.

Seattle Juan,
Product Search - WA State Liquor Control Board

thats the wa state liquore in stock place, what I use to check prices, find deals, and check on stock. Just pick tequila from the drop down menu and you can see their entire stock.

I noticed tesoro de don felipe blanco is on close out. Which from my understanding is the same as tapatio. do the math and at that price its cheaper than AC Jr, even though the tapatio bottle is bigger. cheers

I guess the point was missed here in this thread......"BUYERS BEWARE", many of the tequila collectors have had some bad experiences and we are sharing with those who might not know.

The bottles you noted (yazoo) are all bottles that are in production and easy to get. The bottles that have been purchased and have been questioned in the past have been bottles out of production and very hard to come buy. Again, if you are comfortable with your purchases, that is all that counts.

As far as pricing, I happen to be a big DJ 1942 fan and if you paid more than $81 for the bottle, you paid too much. Not sure which Cazadores you bought, but a 1L bottle of the Anejo is about $50.

There are quite a few good online stores noted here in the forum. I am fortunate enough to be friends with the owner of Wine and Liquor Depot here in San Fernando Valley CA. Mark the owner has one of the largest selections around and continues to get the hard to find bottles and his prices are very fair.

Thanks Yazoo. I know all about the state of liquor in WA state. The El Tesoro has been on close-out for some time and there are only limited amounts available at the $31 price. While everyone would like to think that El Tesoro and Tapatio are the same, they most certainly have different taste profiles even from similar numbered bottlings. If you live in the Seattle area I would be glad to demonstrate that for you. Cost is not the issue, taste is.

To get back on topic my point was that I have no problem buying these bottles from the seller as I know that the seal if intact means the contents are legitimate. Shrink wrap on the other hand can be removed and replaced very easily.I won't think twice about a bottle of Tapatio, but I am going to a HiTimes or Shopper's Vineyard for an Aniversario or Paradiso, not Ebay and certainly not the state of WA liquor stores.

blagave, while the price you mention for Don Julio is great, by the time you factor in shipping from CA or NJ the cost starts to mount where it is not always the best deal for those of us who HAVE to deal with internet buying. By the way the list price for 1942 in WA state is now up to $136.95. Oh that we all could live in the state of CA.

Now you are really going to hate me....I do not buy my DJ 1942 in Calif......I buy it NJ and pay zero tax and zero shipping because of the qty I order. The best I can do in Calif is $90. So those who live on the East Coast have a great deal and if you buy a case at a time, it is a good deal for the rest of us.

Hi, I have a quick question about the packaging of a 750 ml bottle of Silver Patron. Have they ever produced a bottle that did not have a plastic seal around the green tape over the cork?

The reason I ask is... my friend sold me a bottle that did not have the plastic seal, but the green tape was still in tact. He claimed it was brand new. I smelled the bottle and it doesn't smell strong at all.

I think I was ripped off. Has anyone ever bought a bottle that did not have a plastic seal?

I have always seen Patron sold with the plastic seal covering the paper seal. The green seal can be carefully removed without it tearing thereby permitting tampering of the bottle. IMNSHO, I think it may be time for you to find a new "friend"!

lol. thanks for the reply. My friend claims to have won it in a raffle at a bachelor party. If he wasn't the one who removed the plastic seal, it could have been the person who had it before him. Is there a quick and easy way to see if a bottle of tequila has been watered down?
