Default Anybody try Tezon or Chaya Anejo?

I'm getting ready to place an order soon with Hitimewine.com and was thinking of trying these 2. Was wondering if anybody has tried them yet? I almost ordered the Tezon with my last order, but Trece talked me out of saying if I like the real oaky anejos, the Tezon would disappoint me. I'd be interested what the fine people here at Tequila.net think of these 2 brands.

I tried Tezon at a tasting, had all three, but it was out of one of those little plastic cups that come with a bottle of cough syrup.

I'll have to try them again in a Riedel, and haven't tried Chaya yet...

I recently emptied a bottle of the Tezon Repo. and have started into a bottle of the blanco. Both i think are decent tequilas but a tad over priced. If they took 10-15 off them a bottle they would likely be a regular. I had the Anejo at the SD Spirits of Mexico as well as all the Chaya, but I don't remember them enough to recommend them to you, they where definatly drinkable, but they where all tasting good that night.......

I have not tried Chaya Anejo or repo but I had there silver and would recommend it. As for Tezon, you are basically buying the bottle (in my opinion). Here are my reviews on Tezon:

Tezon Blanco NOM 1111 Tasted 3/19/07. Tezon Blanco is a clear color. Aromas consist of intense floral, earth, and smoke followed by moderate spice scents. The first sip of the tequila slightly bitter and has a low amount of sweetness. The types of flavors Tezon Blanco has include intense agave and earth with moderate smoke. On the mild side, there is fruity, floral, and spice hints of flavors. The tequila finished with a long duration of flavor and numbing alcohol intensity. I awarded Tezon Blanco the rating of B overall.

Tezon Reposado NOM 1111 Tasted 2/19/07. Tezon Reposado is a pale yellow color and, personally, I did not think the tequila had a lot of taste to it. Aromas consist of moderate floral and fruit followed by mild earth scents. The first sip of the tequila is bitter and has a low amount of sweetness. The types of flavors Tezon Reposado has include moderate floral and earth. On the mild side, there is fruity, agave, and caramel hints of flavors. Unfortunately, the tequila finished with a short duration of flavor and hot, tingly alcohol intensity. I awarded Tezon Reposado the rating of C+ overall.

The anejo is from my new rating sheets

Tezon Anejo NOM 1111 Tasted on 4/19/07 at 9:45pm. I tried this tequila at El Patron Bar and Grill in Sacramento, CA and tasted it in a matini glass. While this bottle has a unique design, the tequilas quality versus price is the lowest out of any tequila I have rated. With a yellow golden color, this tequila has intense aromas of floral and earth. Other aromas include mild fruit and smoke. Due to the use of a martini glass (El Patron’s normal tequila glass) it was extremely hard to get any aroma from the tequila. The tequila has a oily mouth feel and on the first sip is sweet with moderate-to-mild bitterness. Tezon Anejo has intense aromas of earth followed by moderate-to-intense notes of chemicals, floral, and wood. With a medium-to-long duration of flavor, tastes of moderate agave and mild fruit and spice bring this tequila to a numbing finish. Tezon Anejo has received the rating of 84 points out of 100.

The Chaya anejo is my least favorite of the line. But I really like them all... maybe im a little bias because their office is around the corner from my house. (havent gotten any free stuff so maybe not)....
Anyway, the anejo is totally mellow. Tastes more like an older repo than a firm anejo, its aged 2 years and it still has a nice lime/spice finish. The blanco is my favorite of the line, the repo a close second.
Overall good line... try the anejo at a bar before you commit to a whole bottle if your unsure.

Thanks everyone for your replys. I will have to look around here at some of the Mexican restaurants to see if I can sample them. Unfortunately the only tequila bar we had just closed down due to the stupid owner getting a DUI and losing the liquor license. I wish I knew him personally and could have made a deal for all those tequila bottles in the bar . But if I can't, maybe I'll just get one at a time with each order, I think they are only $35 or $36 plus shipping which does add about $9 but I've probably paid more for less desirable tequilas.
