Tequila Locations and Ratings

So I was thinking it might be easier to add a section in my ratings and reviews section for Restaurants/Bars and even Liquor Stores, that way we can rate them as well, and can sort by state, etc.

This would work a little better than the forums, and enable better sorting and search options.

What do you guys think? Would you want to rate many things, food, tequila selection, cleanliness, etc? Or just give it one score?

i think setting it up like your tequila ratings would be perfect, with an overall rating at the end, i think doing it this way would literally give fellow members an almost virtual discription of the restaurant,place, etc. This would really come in handy especially for our members that are constantly traveling, it feels good to walk into a place, and feel like you've been there before, totally comfortable. will we be able to submit? Keep up the awesome job!!!!!

Yes, same as the agave listings, any member can submit a listing. This would help as I have my hands full trying to add the many brands and bottle listings for Tequila, Mezcal, and Sotol.

Here is what I came up with so far, let me know your comments.

Tequila Bars and Restaurants
Rate - Food, Ambiance, Agave Spirit Selection, Service
Enter - Name, Address, City, State, Zip, Phone, Web site, and description

Tequila Liquor Stores
Rate - Agave Spirit Selection, Prices
Enter - Name, Address, City, State, Zip, Phone, Web site, and description

I would make it so you can sort by city, state, and zip, and can search all entries.

Would probably be best to also separate by Country, have US listings, and Mexico listings for both.

I think this is a great idea. I would maybe even add ratings on

Tequila bars

Have a drop down menu of tupe of glass used (shot glass, 4 oz, snifter, reidel, other), Atmosphere, flights, tequila menu, (I guess this could go into service) bartender knowledge, maybe a number drop down list of number of tequilas (under 50, 75+, 100+, etc), do they do tequila tastings, and do they offer a tequila club.

These are some of the things I will be looking out for in my guide to tequila I am writing over the summer. I will write more about the bars section when I type it up and consider it a little longer. I will also most likely be making some sort of rating form for the bars and liquor stores. I will send Mr. Agave a copy when I get it completed.

The number of tequilas, or agave spirits is a good one, even though it is an ever changing number. There will be a description field where you can add many of the other things you feel is important to add for each location.

Hey all
I stayed up late last night and added the review section for both Tequila Bars and Tequila Liquor Stores. Now we can start adding the listings and doing reviews on them the same as we review Tequilas, Mezcals and Sotols.

I have Tequila Bar Reviews with sections for US and Mexico, and then same for the Liquor Store Reviews. If we want to branch out to the UK or other places I can easily add other countries.

If you add any listings, try and keep the main listing description brief and describe the location. Then you can give your opinions etc in the review.
