I think this is a classic example of why someone on the tequila quest shouldn't put too much weight in others taste opinion, especially when it comes to tequila. One mans crack juice is another mans butt-crack juice! I like all the Fortaleza products very much but the only ones the qualifies as crack juice is lot #4 blanco and lot #3 and #5 repo. On this same topic, I had an epiphany this weekend sipping tequila with some friends. As much as I totally dig Tap EXC, it's no where near as wonderfully complex and satisfying as the Denton ETWL anejo we opened that night. That bottle was very close in flavor complexity as was the muy anejo we shared with Bob that came from the very first case of ET ever made. Incredible caramel and vanilla flavors, floral, smooth as silk, with a subtle sweetness....out of this world! I would have loved to sip it side-by-side with the muy anejo and see how different, if at all, these two offerings were. Both are masterpieces, IMO. However, others may disagree with me and say the EXC was far more complex or the muy anejo, or the WL, or none of the above. Who would be right and who would be wrong? Neither of us and both of us. There is no universal crack juice, none at all (however.....anyone who didn't just melt when tasting ETWL anejo would lose all creditability IMO, 'cause dat shyte is da' bomb!!!
