Default From zero bottles of Tequila to five in one day!

Yesterday, I finally broke my cherry and purchased my first two bottles of quality Tequila in a shop. I had ordered three bottles online earlier this week. I picked up a bottle of Chinaco Anejo and a bottle of Casa Noble Reposado. I got lucky with the Casa Noble and picked up the last Ceramic Bottle they had. I was told that the ceramic bottles were a limited release. The prices were fair as well, at least IMHO. The Casa Noble cost $49.99 + tax and the Chinaco cost $54.95 + tax.

Then, today I received an order I had placed with Shoppers Vineyard when they announced a sale on this board four or five days ago. I received a bottle of Don Eduardo Silver, Chaya Silver and Chaya Reposado. With S&H and the sale, each bottle averaged $25, not bad!

I still want to pick up another Blanco/Silver and another Anejo before I start opening and tasting. Any and all suggestion will be appreciated.

I would post pictures but I don't know how to do it on this board.

That's a great way to kickoff your new Tequila collection!

You can add photos to a post, down below this post box you type in there are "Additional Options", and you can attach files there...

Have fun sampling your new brands.

Congratulations on building your collection! I got in on the Chaya deal with Shoppers Vineyard also, and can't wait to open them. You've definitely got some winning tequilas there.

From a Vegas native, it's refreshing to see someone from Henderson!

Both the Chinaco Anejo and Casa Noble Reposado tequilas are permanent members of my collection.
The prices you paid are just about the same as I pay here in western Massachusetts.

Casa Noble is switching (or has switched) to new bottles, so those ceramic ones will be gone soon. They are still the only ones I can get here, we havent seen the new bottles yet.

Thanks for the input guys.

Wench, are you still in the Vegas Area?

I'm going to post a couple of pictures if I can, just to see if I can do it.

Awesome start to your collection but beware!! Collecting tequila can be a dangerous hobby. It starts off all nice and stimulating but soon you'll find yourself cruising to scary parts of town, stopping at the most sullen of landmarks where the street urchins drink out of brown paper bags, standing on your tippy-toes scouring the highest shelves and darkest corners hoping for a glimpse of the treasure that is surely hiding just beyond sight. Never able to drive down a street without noticing each and every liquor store sign the entire trip, inventing reasons to stop at each one while the wife just rolls her eyes while reminding you how you're already 20 mins late. Then once bought you must find a home for your stash, filling the nooks in the garage, in the closets, in the backroom, on the already overcrowded shelf, so you have to build some cabinets to hold your loot. But what kind, how big, locks or no locks, lights or no lights....and it only get more complicated from here!

Yes, it's a slippery slope my friend, but one hell of a fun ride!!!

Thanks for the heads-up my friend. Unfortunately, I have contracted several similar deceases in the past, many times. One is called CAD (Cigar Acquisition Disorder), another is PAD (Pipe Acquisition Disorder) and then there is TAD (Tobacco Acquisition Disorder). Now, I guess that TAD can also stand for Tequila Acquisition Disorder!

Maybe we can distinguish the differences by changing it to TEAD or Tequila Acquisition Disorder!

Ha....I have found myself doing much of those scary things mentioned. I made 3 stops last time I drove south for a family reuninion. I just had to see what was available, even if I didn't have much money.

I added 2 more bottles to my collection today. See photo! Actually these are technically not Tequila, they are Sotol. I purchased Hacienda De Chihuahua Sotol Plata (Silver) and Reposado, at a cost of $25.99 + tax and $26.99 + tax respectively.

From what I understand, they are both good sippers and stand up very well in Margaritas.
