Thumbs up Tequila Tierras

My local store just brought in the Tequila Tierras line. I tried the Anejo last night with friends. Everyone enjoyed it.
A medium to dark golden color with noticeable oily legs down the glass.
It has a strong agave scent, a fair amount in the initial taste, but the oak tones soon take over. A bit of a dry, peppery burn to finish it off. It grabs your attention, but doesn't distract.

It claims to be the "first USDA ORGANIC TEQUILA in the United States". Apparently that's debatable.

It runs for $50 here in Western Massachusetts.

Autentica Tequilera, S.A. de C.V.
NOM 1502

Imported by Castle Brands : Castle Brands Inc.
The brand's site isn't up yet, but this is what it's supposedly going to be: http://www.tequilatierras.com/

This brand, distillery and importer has been submitted to Tequila.net, awaiting approval.

I had noticed it on Seth's site, shoppersvineyard.com, and was wondering how it was. Thanks for the review .

I have tried the Tierras blanco and repo. I really like the blanco, but the repo loses me a little. They both have a good nose - very inviting of what the taste might be like. The blanco comes through with a good taste and finish that seems to have that organic characteristic (or maybe I'm dreaming that such a thing exists). Although the repo has a great nose as well, there is something in the taste that I don't care for - a slightly unpleasant aftertaste IMO.

Nonetheless, I do still like the blanco and will be giving the anejo a try sometime soon.
