Don Valente is the route to go, it is not available in North Carolina and I can specificly direct you to retailers that carry DV!

It really depends on where you stop though. Spec's in Austin has the best tequila selection by far IMHO (I havent searched too hard), the Warehouse is near the airport, off I-35. A google map search will find it for you...I would say they have at least 150 tequila brands.

I have no idea about the tequila selection in North Carolina. But it is northern east coast and tequila is not quite as popular in some areas up there. Go through the reviews and check out some brands you may be interested in, shoot me a PM and I can let you know if I've seen them in Texas. I am located about 1 1/2 hours north of Austin.

I must emphasize Don Valente, it is AMAZING and worth every penny. The brand is solid all the way through (blanco, repo, anejo). You will not be disapointed.

another to keep your eye on...El Gran Jubileo is supposed to be great and if your going for a long shot...TequilaME, the extra anejo is now available around here and I have not tried it yet. There are LOTS of brands available in Texas. It seems Cali, Texas, Colorado, Florida, and Arizona are the hot spots for tequila.

Don Valente is a good way to go, but as BN stated the Spec's warehouse has tons of different brands, check them out. You'll see once yuo're there that there might be alot of brands you are willing to buy, so don't just limit yourself to one specific brand. Depending on what youre willing to spend go to town and buy as much as you want, but if you're budgeting for one great bottle, look for the stuff you KNOW you can't get back home, and get that, look at the reviews and find one that really jumps out at you.

Spec’s did not have Don Valente and I could not remember El Gran Jubileo. With the help of an employee I went with Fina Estampa Blanco and Pepe Zenada Z Blanco. He went into talking about the flavor and the region these where distilled. He said the Fina was very good. I think I went with somewhat medium priced Tequila.

I which I had more money and a larger suitcase and I would have purchased others. In NC I have not come across a sprits warehouse and Spec’s was amazing.

I am not a Tequila conasure per say but may becoming one. I would like to know the differences between blanco, repo, anejo. I noticed the blanco’s where clear, which are the ones I purchased.

I will be trying one of them this weekend. I don’t know which one as I want to save the other for a special occasion because they are not found in NC.

Thanks for the quick replies. The postings where very helpful and I look forward in trying other brands of tequila.

Thanks again!!
