Jose Cuervo Black Medallion
I received an email from an online store promoting the JC Black Medallion for $29 and after a few friends have asked me about this tequila, I decided to go to the JC web site just to read up on this so called "Hip" tequila. I had to laugh when the description of the product said, "100% Anejo"...... tequila aged in charred oak barrels for over a year and the tequila is Signature Blend.......not just blended, but Signature Blend
It kinda sucks that the consumer is being mislead to believe they are buying 100% agave......I have been telling people for years that the reason you got sick and prayed to god after a night of drinking JC, was because 1. you drank too much and 2. you drank a mixto, which the sugars and additives made you sick.
Now that I have shared quality "100% Agave" tequilas with them and have told them when buying tequila to look for the words 100% Agave on the bottles and you will fair better the next morning after a night of drinking tequila. I am afraid the average person will see the words 100% Anejo and think it is 100% Agave and will tie one on and have another bad experience with tequila.
I must say, there are some really creative marketing people over at JC.
Has anyone dared to try this?
