Default Tequila Bars Closing

I read this morning that the Agave Tequila Lounge in Nashville is no longer open for business.

The 2 locations of the Sante Fe Tequila Company here in Denver both closed.

Let me know if you see anything in your area so I can update the Tequila Bar listings.

I'm afraid, looking at the economy, that this has not ended. The number of closings by major restaurant chains is scary. Let's pray that we have hit bottom.

This economy is really scary! After work today I stopped by a local Tequila Bar/Mexican Restaurant (not listed on this site) that I hadn't been to in about 6 or 7 months. During that last visit there I had noticed the tell tale signs of a business trying to keep it's head above water. At that time during one of their flights, many of the tequilas I attempted to order were out of stock. Today I sat at the tequila bar and I was amazed at how condensed their shelves looked. What was once a fully stocked bar of nice premium tequilas from top to bottom looked like it had shrunk to about a third of what they used to carry. I ordered a snifter of Frida Kahlo Repo which by the way was very tasty along side some chips & salsa. The bartender told me how much their business has dropped off. We have really been hit hard here in the Tampa Bay area of Florida with unemployment close to 8%. People are really tightening their belts and when they do venture out are picking and choosing where they spend their cash. Good thing I still have a couple of other Tequila Bar options locally. They seen to hang in there with reasonably priced authentic cuisine and tequila specials. Has anyone else been dealing with these same problems in your different areas?

Well, since I lost my job (downsizing), Ive only been able to buy the cheaper brands. Some of them are good, but to be honest, I miss the Penca Azuls, the Chinacos, the Los Abuelos.

I start new job in a week, and Im rewarding myself on first paycheck with a nice bottle of one of the above.

Malo down the street has been affected slightly, not crazy, but I noticed the dining room is not as crowded these days.
