this was a closeout (price) at our local vons market .... so i tried it , but i'll stick with traditional tequila if you please .

Boy, that brings back some memories. In my attic, I have a Monte Alban 'I ate the worm' t-shirt. It must be at least 25 years old. Back then we thought that was the good stuff. I did eat the worm and also got some kind of certificate, the bar we used to go to had Mezcal Mondays. You would get $1 mezcal shots and $1 Heinekens, I can't believed I survived some of those nights .

I also picked up 2 of those bottles .........................they will be for a buddy of mine that comes over once in a while and the only interesting subject to him is a buzz of the liquor. I tried to school him on the Tequila game but I dont think he gets it................so I wont let him drink my good stuff

I do the same thing for my friends and roommate. I hate pouring up a half to whole bottle of premium tequila and watching everyone take it down in shots like its a 10.00 jug of Vodka. I have often thought it would be humorous to take an empty bottle of something good and filling it with a mixto...then pass that around. I sit there and try to explain most of the time about the product we are sipping on but usually everyone ends up drunk and not caring.

I have learned the hard way with my friends and good tequila. I have poker night about once a month with anywhere from 8 to 20 guys. I was going through $200+ a night in just tequila. I finally figured out that I could start out with like a DJ anejo and as the night went on, the more some of the guys would get a bit drunk, I could switch them over to a plactic jug of Aztec Gold tequila and they never new the difference. In Fact. I was telling them it was Rey Sol and they were telling me it was the best they have ever had.
The worst though, was when I poured a friend a shot of Porfidio Barrique in a snifter and he tossed it back like a cheap whiskey....I just about died. :P
