Default What other Mezcal?

Unlike Tequila, there is not much info about mezcal products online. What other types of mezcal do you drink and recommend?

Totally agree, but stay away from El Mezcalito, the plastic jug and the price are perfect warnings.

I see Los Danzantes as a recommendation, does anyone have a review or tasting notes on the anejo. I have a place that offered it to me at cost to get my opinion but I have not been a big fan of mezcal in the past. However, I am surious and would like to hear more about others experience with this mezcal before I would buy it. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I have had both the blanco and reposado of Las Danzantes. Their reposado is pretty dark, and I would almost consider that closer to an anejo. The wood smooths out the taste and I recommend this brand as it is smoother than most mezcals. I would guess that you would find it worthy compared to aged tequilas.

Thanks for your response Mr. A. Glad to hear it is smoother than most mezcals. Some I have tried are just too harsh but I guess that is the case with some tequilas as well.

My new favorite mezcal is Embajador de Oaxaca. The one that I have is aged and I believe that is all they make. It is a bit pricey.
I also love Don Amado Anejo, which is very affordable and extra smokey.
